08/09 Hatches, Stand up and show yourselves!!!
Mapped on tesco 99 which i have always used
now puts out 336 BHP and 375 Torque
pulls like a train and going off the printout the curve is very linear from start to finish
car has done 49,000 miles and has never missed a beat, i have it seviced
every 10K as per book and i have NEVER checked the oil, until today to see if any was there (9000 since last service) and its nearly to the full mark, had to look in book to see were the bonnett release was

I say i have had no problems twice it has been to the garage when i found oil on my drive both times the cause was a hole in the oil filter, on both occasions the garage did an oil change and steam clean.
i had brakes fitted from godspeed he sent the kevlar ones recommended you get no dust from them and they bite hard
hopefully duncans map will help futureproof it as he has NEVER had a re-mapped engine blow and he has done loads
I'm sure this has been asked here before but I can't find the answer...
My 2008 STi seems to be running perfectly, it's done 22k, it doesn't use any oil from what I can see. Its had the "corrective" remap from Subaru but I was wondering what I can do to prevent the failures others have experienced. Are there are any components that I can get changed or upgraded to ensure I won't have the failure further down the line?

Imy, i'm toying with the racedynamix remap via Duncan just for peace of mind (He hasn't had one go pop!), as i'm out of warranty, then when funds permit will see if Rob can fit the forged bits. I'm local to you so if you too want to go down the remap route let me know as could negotiate a package deal if 2 done together!

Pm me if you would like a quote for forging your engine
OK. A question for the experts on here please....
After a long drive (say 100 - 200miles) 'i think' I'm hearing a sort of intermittent grind / rub noise from the front ( hubs ?) when crawling at 2-3 mph.
After car is left for a few hours - no noise.
It could even be that "I'm feeling it" through the pedals ? If that makes any sense at all ?
Could it be the beginning of driveshaft failure ? After a long run the oil or grease is knackered or something ? Or possibly grindy or lumpy abs. ? Thing is the next day it's not there ?
So I grab a wheel and try to shake it - no movement at all.
Experts reveal yourselves .....
( but not like that.. Lol )
Thank you.

Its a build up of brake dust which sticks to the old grease which makes them sticky.
How long since the front brake pads were out of the caliper ?? once the discs and brakes warm through they have been known to bind on the disc causing either a grind or a squeel. Whip the pads out and clean the edges up were they sit on the tin slides and lubricate with alloy grease. Job sorted.

Prob 18,000 miles since new pads...
I'll get someone to give it a clean
Thanks

Unfortunately yes it is wrote in the service booklet in black and white. Section B of the owners responsibility's

Its difficult to say what the outcome would be from your initial question, since you have kept to your side of the agreement, I hardly see it fair that you would be penalised.

What happens if you had your car serviced > 1 month/1000 miles the other side of the marker - could they reject a warranty claim for that?
Actually forget that.
It actually says either side of the due
So, if you get your car serviced 5 weeks before its due, then that will invalidate your warranty!

Did wonder that myself as well as should there not be a note in that text staing failing to do so will invalidate the warranty, not that it would help me as I didn't read the book anyway lol

Rob could you tell me if the new 2011 sti steering wheel will fit my 2010 330s, the type that is fitted in Don's saloon with the flat bottom. Assume it will work and all the wheel controls and air bag will be fine?
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
The type with the Flat bottom isnt actually a subaru Part. Its an aftermarket steering wheel made my DAMD if I recall. available through Japan Parts £378.50 + shipping & import duty.
