Right a quick one then, offshore at the moment so someone may be able to help before I buy tyres, cant remember the exact size of the tyres.

I have prodrive GT1 alloys think the tyres are 245 40 R18's but may be side profile 45. If anyone can correct me that would be great.

Narrowed it down

Conti Sport Contact
Goodyear Eagle F1 assy's
Verdestein's

I don't want compromise the handling, first set I have had to buy and don't want it to be the wrong choice especially with the cost.

Correct tyre size is 245/40R18 97Y and of the 3 choices, personally I would go for the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2.

I've fitted Verdesteins on mine. Stick like s**h to a blanket, wet or dry.

Quote: Does anyone have any idea if the number ye text for METASAT for a MY08 has changed? If so, what to?

I'm nae getting a response when texting it but have an active subsription and plenty credits.

The +39 number isn't working... and last time I disconnected my battery I got a text from a UK number - but this one isn't working either. Although, I'm nae sure the UK number stored in my phone is this same UK number, might have been from an earlier time and I deleted the most recent one.

Any ideas?

Anyone who has had/having problems should email support@octotelematics.co.uk giving vehicle reg, details of requests/activations etc and whether car in garage or covered at time.

Would appear the text messaging system has problems they are trying to isolate/pin down.

And Mark, I must admit most months I look at the FRS and think about swapping, the issues are still there with it that were there when they came out that stopped me from buying one new back then but it still is an itch I want to scratch!!!

I can live with the hard interior plastics and the power too (for now), the three things that put me off are:

1, 2 wheel drive, in the snow we have been getting the Scoob has been faultless and I cannot do without a car should we get a layer.
2, 2 doors, really would be a PITA.
3, They are pretty common, 4000 were made IIRC and the hatch is still as rare as.

However saying that I can assure you that in the next few weeks I will again be trawling through PH seeing if I can find a deal!!!

Now if Ford ever bring out a Mk3 FRS with AWD, decent MPG and a battery powering the rears I'm not sure if I could say no!

RS Mk2 was on my shortlist. That 5pot does sound the nuts on full chat but after living with an FN2 CTR for the last 3 years the thing that has annoyed me most is the lack of traction on anything but dry and flat tarmac (admittedly mine was not a LSD model). The interior on the Ford is crude even in comparison to the STi and dare I say it the RS looks far more Halfords / Max Power compared to the STi which is more subtle even with the bonnet scoop. The 2nd hand prices are pretty high as well considering the number on the 2nd hand market whereas the STi’s have plummeted in comparison to their OTR price (which was stupidly high tbh).

Just wish I could find an '11 STi Hatch as they are rare as rocking horse poo at the mo.

From reading on here that isn't that cheap to do and tbh I am after a younger car with a longer warranty. Good luck with the sale though.

I am afraid we would be a long way off those sorts of figures - your car books in Glass's Guide @ £13,000 so we would be looking around that.
who the *** makes these guides up???

no consideration into the PPP, all extras!!!

guess a strip down and back to standard would allow a few grand return lol

Quote: I've had the Litchfield overlays and TBH they're not too bad to fit but the colour is not great. They're quite a deep plum red and definitely don't look OEM. Bluebatmobile overlays from the States are much more OEM looking.

Any overlays are much easier to fit with the lights removed from the car - slightly soapy water and a hairdryer is the way to go.

HTH, Neil
well i have managed to find a contact email and have sent it over. so i will await the reply.

If anyone is after or thinking of doing this to their hatch then please let me know and I will ask for a few more sets and we can split the shipping and taxes etc.

Cheers

Are these overlays you talk the same as on this car (which I believe is NormantheDog’s) as his ad suggests he got them fitted by the dealer at time of purchase?

its so much easier fitting the overlays on the lights still fixed to the car, you dont have to worry about holding it in place whilst trying to stretch and pull

you need 2 pairs of hands to do it easily and properly, 1 for heat gun, 1 for squeegy, then 2 to hold and pull on vinyl!!

That is the wrap we are talking about although I think on the 2011 onwards cars it was standard as I know Don's saloon has the red tint on them. I think the earlier cars were all clear and Subaru / IM took note and sorted it on the new facelifted model.

I may be wrong though

Damn rb5 286 I read that and thought it was applicable to all used Subaru but alas only Outbacks and Legacy’s and only valid until the end of the month.

The saloons were always red

The MY11 Hatch is still clear as standard....

Trading Standards / Advertising Standards Agency would probably object to the Impreza 2.5 being described as bulletproof!

Maybe if "rubber" is inserted before bullet proof, it would get through?

BlueBatmobile overlays fitted to mine, I found it far easier whipping the lights out of the car and resting them between my knees and working over them with a hair dryer. Personal choice I'm no expert on viynl but that worked for me with no air bubbles
