08/09 Hatches, Stand up and show yourselves!!!
nearly 13000 miles on the clock and is about to explode at any time
its not worth the worry
wonder what the trade in was probably £11.345 which is what my08
is worth at we buy any vehicle just checked 2 mins ago
mmmm looks like i will be keeping mine forever as i cant see me getting a better car without adding 10-12k to it
Been on a month, got 2 people interested when it comes back from Enginetuner after the Subaru Garage took it for TWO "test" drives having failed to put enough oil in it (put 4 litres but with the oil cooler/pipes takes 5.5litres). They assure me that it is OK to "test" drive the car with no oil showing on the dipstick. I'm sure we are all relieved to hear that

Engine now finished with replacement Cossy bearings and should be back home later this week.
The new owner will benefit from a fully checked/refreshed engine and new clutch (old one developed a slight vibration)
Alan kindly sent these current pics:

I see your point RB5 286. Its an expensive game running a Scooby, which is why we've decided to quit. Hope things get back to normal for you soon.

Modding any car is generally an expensive hobby. If modding is your thing then i reckon its in your blood and the chances are you will sell the scoob then start again on something else.
I don't find my car to be that expensive to run. Yes fuel is an issue, as is insurance, but if you want something with a bit of poke, then fuel / insurance is likely to always be a problem.
This said if a car is costing £800 per month then i would be having a re-think (pretty quick)

Carl Davey - here I come man
Cheers Guys
Hi, thought I'd pop on and post a final posts.
Mine went last month for £15500 - as most will know the spec of mine was quite special (especially the engine and seats) so I think that there is no way that any hatch will be sold privately for more than £16k.
Bossman, wish you best mate and hope you get a decent price, but it's unlikely in my opinion to get anywhere near £18k, lovely though it is.
Unless you're minted, these cars are just too pricey to run these day (I'm running a Citroen Picasso now - yikes - slow but 60mpg works well lol).

Loads better than every chaved up, saxo, corsa, mondeo... to name a few that i've seen.
Even the more expensive brands, like Audi & Porsche look pretty woeful with the LED running lights!
The Citroen ones are blinding actually
cheers,
I've possitioned them so that if you were standing nearer the car.. you don't get dazzeled.
as they are not over bright LEDs they don't over power the the other lights on the car,
with the 9x5050SMD side lights on..

side lights, Fogs and DRLs

side, fog, dipped main and DRL

reading the law on DRLs, you can retro fit.
DRLs that are too bright need to either to turn off or Dim when you turn the head lights on.
As these are retro fit and not over bright I wouldn't need to turn them off or need to be dimmed.
Trouble is, how many cars are now driving with FOG lights (+the side lights) on, thinking they can get away with them as DRL.
DRLs don't need to have any other head light, side light on to work.
Whereas, Fog lights only come on with other lights... Side light and head light. Ie: you can't turn th Fog lights on on their own.

Still miss it though - came across Rocket Launchers today & was v jealous & regret selling mine
- I wish I'd dug deep & stayed in for the long term. I'll never be able to justify going back to a hatch but it was by far the best lbft for £ I've ever had.
imprezzas are good to look at and for acceleration
your legacy is better for MPG and for carrying kit
i only averaged 26.4 and thanks again for your old wheels they will go to good use tomorrow when i shoe them with winter tyres in the morning and the car also get its 40,000 service tomorrow for those that worry about them blowing up---totally standard and used as my daily commuter i use tesco 99 fuel and have it serviced oh and have never even checked the oil i would not know how to do it
