The potential area for restricion is inside that back box as you have no idea what route the gas has to take through it. I would worry, but thats just my opinion

Off topic, but cool
The new Colin McRae game from codemasters featuring our 08/09 STis is being released on 11th September. If you pre-order from my lot, you get early access to the STi (means you get to slide the rally weapon around with pure abandon very early in the game, rather than having to struggle with lesser machinery).
Have had a hands-on on this and it is very realistic (but then again, I've never driven at full chat down a forest stage), you can execute Scandinavian flicks and hugely satisfying four wheel drifts. Best thing is that if you fall off the road and wrap it around a tree or a rock, you just hit restart.
Think the game actually does a good job paying due respect to the man himself
Checkout a vid here:

And don't forget, it's not too late to sign up for the Litchfield Meet on the 5th September............

Litchfield :-)
Got all the planed work done,
Prodrive springs
Powerflex ALK
Rear subframe bushes
Re-valved steering
4 wheel alignment
oil and filter change (got Motul V300 put in)
Well I have to say (as have others) the change is incredible, its a new car. Very tight and precise and even more enjoyable to drive. The Prodrive springs are excellent, there is no doubt that you can feel more bumps but not by much and the plus points way more than make up for it. Anyway I personally wanted it to feel harsher
The heavier weight of the steering really make you feel more involved in the drive too. For a mere £47.5 I would say its a must do even on its own!
So to sum up, just fantastic, I cant recommend Litchfield and the mods enough
Cant wait for the Hatch Meet, it will be great to meet everyone and see all the cars ..................oh and buy some more bits.....
Cheers

It was £680 odd for that lot. £230 of that was the PD springs which I couldn't get a discount on but they seem the same everywhere. That was with the 15% hatch discount.
Don't forget that I already had the Positive Traction Bushes (rear subframe) and so they were just fitted.
Also I had already fitted the WL Rear ARB + mount brace bars myself, so that completes the package.
My local Scooby dealer wanted £310 just to fit the PD springs - Litcho did it for £95.......no brainer.......
And yes the springs really help with body roll and general slopyness. But deffo best in conjunction with the rear ARB aswell. If you want to do it in stages then do the ARB first, it makes quite a large difference for minimum outlay (both parts and labour)
If anyone is unsure of the ride quality after fitting the PD springs etc then I can take you out for a trip in mine at the hatch meet if you like

Was going to ask if you remembered to claim your 15% discount, but I see you did
Hearing your report on the trnasformation of the car, I can't wait til the 5th to get my car fitted with the Litchfield handling kit. It doesn't include the Pro-Drive springs though, so I may well be asking for a pax ride in yours to see if the ride is too nuggety for me.
Cheers

Hello everyone.
I've been directed to this thread by another member as I'm after some advice on the new hatch.
Today I put a deposit on a 59 sti and ordered the Prodrive accessory pack (fog lights, front lip spoiler 18" alloys and also the boot spoiler).
However I would like to restore the Subaru burble as my pet cat can meow louder than the standard exhaust. I'm hoping one of you could recommend an exhaust (I'm currently looking at a Miltek).
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

I f you have ordered your STi you can get the PPP kit @ half price around £ 800 which will give you some of the Subaru burble + 30 bhp not as loud as the Milltek though
We got our Milltek from here
They were selling for £575 + delivery

Also the PPP would keep your three year warranty entact as well otherwise you may have issues with other exhausts.
What colour did you go for?

They are Milltek dealers and fitted my system before I picked the car up and its fully guaranteed as is the rest of the car , no problems . And if you get a PPP you can keep the Milltek aswell .

Sad news a friend had his hatch sti stolen yesterday evening broke into his garage and took keys and car police found it very quickly, they had driven through a wall and completely wrecked it.

Go on Youtube mate and type in 2008 or 2009 STI exhaust to see/hear some of the options...
The PPP (I believe the back box is made by Janspeed) does give some of the burble back, but an aftermarket will give you more. Also, if you want to see/hear a few to help make up your mind I suggest you come along to the hatch meet at Ian Litchfields on the 5th September, there will be a few there...
I run a full Milltek system and I am very happy with it, not too noisy when cruising about but sounds good when you give it some welly...

Rubbish
I keep thinking that a key safe is the only way to go as it seems that the preferred manner of stealing our cars is to grab the keys.
Meantime an IP webcam with motion detection is about to get fixed to outsdie of the house pointing at STi.

Well finally all my bits arrived to get the front looking how I wanted it from day one, lip is from BasonR on ebay and must say really good quality and fit, mesh is Zun and again fit and finish is second to none, fogs are oe and red trim £2 from Halforrds, even relocated my PIAA horns whilst the front was in pieces.
Must say the bumper is so easy to get on and off, for anyone wanting to fit the mesh but is worrying about stripping the front, don't, its a 10 minute job to take off and can even do it on your own, as long as you lay so blankets out firts to sit it on!!
Anyway, really happy with the end result, not cheap but well worth it, I can now start thinking about the rear!!!

I have to say I wouldn't want mine back if it got stolen. It just wouldn't be mine anymore after some to$$er had ragged it from cold etc etc, I'd be glad if it was written off.
Hope he gets a positive outcome from a $hitty situation

Nice one Arron
I like the Zunsport in black, I'm not sure I've seen it in black before, looks way better - I may consider one myself after seeing that
Like the red in the grille too

I bought the Hardware from the website: PLX Kiwi Wifi - Connect your iPhone / iPod Touch to your car's OBD2 OBDII Port. - this was $150 with £30 VAT/parcelforce charge on top (took about a week to arrive)
if you have a UK impreza then you need to buy the VGA component leads for the iphone to display the iphone info onto your tv headunit. Apple Composite AV Cable - Apple Store (U.K.)
I connected this to the red/yellow/white RCA connections on the back of my Kenwood headunit.
(apparently the Euro impreza comes with VGA connections in the centre console if you have the sat nav option included.)
SOFTWARE REQUIRED
I downloaded this software to the iphone: DevToaster - iPhone app development, Great iPhone apps, and more
this was £24 for the full version, you can download the lite version but I dont think this gives you the OBD port readings from the hardware.
You then need to jailbreak your iphone which basically unlocks the OS of the phone to enable you to downlod & use 3rd party software which you need to display the iphone screen on your headunit screen. (sounds complicafted but its a piece of **** as the steps take you thru bit by bit)
all explained and downloadable stuff here: Step-By-Step Guide to Jailbreak iPhone 3G running iPhone OS 3.0 using Redsn0w (Windows) - iPhone Hacks
once all thats installed you just need to download the splitscreen software as explained here: Plutinosoft ScreenSplitr | Platinum UPnP SDK
then you're ready to go once you've connected and paired all the above together.
I have no idea if blackberry sites list software / cables for you to do this so cant answer your question.
