How much would the mapping be for this car: 1998 SUBARU IMPREZA WRX TYPE R V-LIMITED RA
Its never had any mapping done since coming in to the country.
Would the only option be the Simtek ECU... £920??
And sorry to be dumb, but whats "ALS" as it says with or without this?

ALS = Anti Lag System.
Can only be set up very mildly to produce "cosmetic" bangs unlesss you're prepared to replace your turbo on a regular basis.
You can also opt for launch control, although I wouldn't for the sake of your gearbox, assuming it's std!

Agreed, I would prefer to go to him. Probably better when he knows the roads etc.
Bob reckons he can do 4 a day I think, so maybe we could get one lot done in Swindon and one in South Wales?
I'm putting a VF35 on for my remap (if I can get one in time!) and I'll just drive up with boost turned right down and keep the revs down. I reckon it will be OK.

Swindon is fine for me as well just trying to offer an alternative for my fellow countrymen.
If possible I would like as early in the day as possible due to the distance I will have to travel.

Simtek is the best option for you, as you can't be remapped on the std ECU

Okey Dokey lovely thanks for answering that
£920 it is then - think I'll pass on the anti-lag

Good to see you have all kept this going in my enforced absence Still no broadband at home and was off Fri-Sun so no access to work internet
Anyway, it's probably best to get a list together for a Swindon group and a S. Wales group, sounds like there's enough cars for both locations.....?
So far it seems to be:-
Swindon
- Scoobeenut
- MixMan X
-
South Wales
- STiX
- Cannon Fodder

Otherwise I would probably be better off going back to Powerstation.
Oh and as I previously mentioned it would have to be the 17th May for me - I can't do the 10th?

Cannon Fodder - read your post about the premises which is great.
However, are you ok with 17th May?
If you are we can ask Bob whether he can do 2 in Ponty on the 17th?
Either you or I can ask him, however if he can't travel then as I said previously I'll go back to Powerstation.
As for it being a serious saving - I agree it is for the full map including licence as I paid £499 +VAT 3 years ago on a Powerstaion Group Buy I organised.
Is the map without licence that great a deal though @ £280 +VAT? How much is it normally? I am sure its a good deal but nothing to compare it too?

Not sure on the remap with existing licence price but I think the Ecutek remapping prices are higher than Simtek and not far off the new licence price but I could be proved wrong.

Good thats at least two of us for the 17th. I notice you have already paid Bob a deposit - did you discuss dates/location with him at the time?
If not would you be able to ask him about Ponty on the 17th - as you have already spoken to him?

Can you do the 10th? It looks like the South Wales boys are doing the 17th, so if you and Scoobeenut can do the 10th then thats three of us at Swindon.
I think we need six total for the group buy price, so we really need one more for South Wales on the 17th.

Bob contacted me today by email to ask us to confirm who's getting mapped, where and when. He obviously said that he's been away so is aware we haven't been able to get hold of him.
I'll send him the list below but can you confirm the address of the Wales mapping? I suspect he will also prefer to do 3 in Wales and 2 in Swindon, to make his trip over more 'efficient'. Are any of the guys under the Swindon option prepared to be done in Wales instead?
Rich.
Swindon
- Scoobeenut
- MixMan X
- Borat
South Wales
- STiX
- Cannon Fodder

Tried ringing and left a message - but as he is in China he's a little slow getting back to me......hopefully he'll return my call when he's back.
If someone posts on here when they know he's back I'll ring him again anyway to pay. So long as he can do 17th May in Wales im in
