You should really push the shaft out the hub, sometimes you'll need to use a brass/ali drift, or even a puller.

It seemed to be popping out okay with a light tap but then the shaft came out of the box ! Take it just pushes back in, no special procedure ? Done a few rears now but not fronts.

The front attaches to the stub with just a roll/spring pin. So you can pop that out to free the stub shaft. The stub is retained by the spring clip on the end of it, it should go back in okay, but just watch the spring clip on the shaft seal.

A little anti seize compound wouldn't go amiss on the shaft spline in the hub.

Day on the cars today. Mostly on the blue car though. Paul fitted the new hub then set to work removing the wing as it was one I put on last year sometime but colour match was not good. Also a previous incident of falling shelves in my garage had dented my drivers door so this week I had another door and wing sprayed.

Door was from a V5 car and plugs are different so I had to rewire the lot ! Eventually fitted the glass, took a while as I had never done it on an Impreza.

We did do a little work on the Type R, fitted all the floor grommets (decided on rubber in the end) And fitted the new Walbro.

Then I wanted to test to see if I had power, so fitted a battery and the ECU and great ignition turned on.

However fuel pump did not prime After testing I found one live 12v and 6v going to pump but that was it. But not the live to power pump, I called Richard of ex Zen fame (Fiestaboy on here) for some advise. He told me to trace back to the relay and see if power was switching there. It was so I now need to run another wire up the the pump. Something has gone wrong somewhere but I will have a go tomorrow.

Things were a little busy today as my old wagon was back for a new rad too. Too many Imprezas !

That looks like some kind of bizarre impreza-only accident!

Okay, done for the day and the Blue car is ready for the 30-130 next weekend. Today I fitted the new mirrors, wing and stripped out all the seat belts. Then put in a passenger seat so there is somewhere for people to sit next weekend

And then a clean

Type R did get some attention today, tracked down the problem with fuel pump not working. Seems the old immobiliser was causing trouble. Still re wired and refitted pump and it now primes

Done a few more bits, odd hose here and there and fitted map sensor and ignition amp. Noticed this little steel pipe, what does this connect to ?

I'm pleased the passenger gets a harness, I need your car details to put into dynolicious. Weight and power I think ? I can virtually remember them myself but you can give me them to be sure

As mentioned, the steel pipe would normally be connected to the carbon canister - Just T it into the pipe next to it, and feed it into the chassis leg.
