Are these Alyns new 257 cases mate?

Looking forward to see how they perform. What levels are you intending to push them to Clive?

I intend to go circa 500/500 for now with the S215. The limiting factor is the PPG rather than the engine tbh.

I like the spec Clive, sounds just about spot on if you ask me for a twistie focused car. I loved my type R dccd set up.

Perhaps I should be asking Alyn this, but it's more a query as opposed to a potential order, so don't wish to waste Alyns time on the phone.

Are the bores machined after the insert has been fitted, and what sort of cost are the inserts?

PM me if you prefer.

Neil.

Bores are honed or bored post inserts Neil. As for cost then its for Alyn to say really as not sure on exact amount but it is surprisingly reasonable. As you probably know Andy Forrest is going to use the same type inserts in his H6 for his next engine which says it all about how good these inserts must be.

I really think this could reinvigorate the use of 2.5 builds for those looking for 450 plus as that is the number quoted by most respected tuners as a max for the open beck 2.5s.

I'm thinking the same Clive, got a 2.5 short motor here, and unsure where to go next with it.

If Alyn doesn't see this i'll drop him a line.

Now I see you must have been bored with the ST205 compared to this.

Nice build.

Slight change of direction on the new build, the S215, down pipe and 76mm inlet is now up for sale at 1150 quid. Less than 1000 miles !

Alyn at AS Performance has just about built engine, there was a slight delay as crank I supplied that was used was not good enough so now there is a brand new 79mm crank in there.

Currently investigating other turbo options but it will now be twisted

Mate, I wouldn't remove your spoiler if I were you, not if its only just for TOTB.

I managed to pick up a spare wr1 bootlid without spoiler, which is what you see in above pic. Its pretty easy to swap em over. Paul and Ren will be doing a couple of neat mods in the next few weeks on this. The spoilerless look I use to hate is now growing on me very quickly!

Shame you are not near to me as you would be most welcome to borrow my bootlid...although the colour might be a mismatch!

So wouldn't it be easier just to get a used bootlid (carbon warp it if different colour) and stick your track spoiler on that one. This means all you will have to do is swap the actual bootlids each time....This way you can retain your original without the "mess".

The boot lid is staying white as its a carbon wing. I thought it would be easier to swap spoilers than boot lids. Plus I think getting a white bootlid will be anightmare

And the built engine along with a 6 speed. PPG will soon be for sale, just getting it refreshed first.

So have the PPG out which has had new 3rd and 4th baulk rings fitted and fully inspected. Originally built by Zen with uprated selector forks. It's in perfect condition and for sale now for £2200. Requires a 3.9 rear diff and I will include a R160 version if required.
