Mart,
Firstly and this will sound mean, and pedantic, but could you possibly post complete sentences on a single line, rather than splitting them over multiple lines, unless that is down to whatever you're using to post (for example, if it's from a phone browser then I could see how it might do odd things). I ask this as it does make reading the posts somewhat difficult.
In regards to the width options, bottom line is, I don't think any of them are being adhered to by the new forum update. I *think* and I could be wrong here, that the options for the different widths was something that modified the style/template (ie; the "look" of the forum) and since the upgrade certain items that effected the style/templates have been removed, and the width thing is probably one of them. I would like the full width thing back myself to be honest.
Was the 15" size thing stated by Stu? I could be wrong but I thought that was something that was brought up at the last style change, a while ago, which was when Simon ran SN. I'm happy to apologize if I'm wrong on this point. The point here being that if it was something Simon had said, it's not really fair to Stu/IB as they were not in control at that point. It's quite possible they may well address the size issue. There are other issues that need addressing and some may well be more important than fixing the size of the forum.
In regards to what we're talking about when it comes to buttons and what ones were missing, these were the ones most people said were not appearing:

It looks as though this problem is now fixed however.
As for your last picture. Looking at things, it seems you're running Firefox, but what exact version an on what exact operating system?
If it's not the latest version of Firefox (I think it's currently at 3.0.7) then try updating it and see if that makes any difference.
If you use Internet Explorer do you see the same issue? Have you tried logging out of your SN account and then clearing your internet cache, history and all cookies relating to SN and then accessing SN via the www.scoobynet.com link, then logging in and accessing a thread/forum? If not then give that a shot and see if it makes a difference.
I could be wrong but I don't recall anyone else posting to say they are seeing that particular problem and I'd have thought others would surely have mentioned if it was happening.

I still have problems with the width of the display if I use IE. A third of the screen is a white background with the thread on the left (even on centred) - looks a bit strange on my 24" monitor. I am now seeing all of the buttons in IE though.
I assume Stu is working on this (as stated in his upgrade sticky) so have swapped to FF just for SN.

Thank you Markus,
OK questions answered in order
Buttons,
many thanks, thats what i was asking for, I now know what i should
(at this round of sw/ flavour of the month) have. Which i do
Re the sizing issue, no it wasnt due to Stu, it was as you and i correctly
recalled down to issues from when Simon did the last round of SW
changes. I wasnt blaming Stu for this, but trying to point him in a direction
where we had a similar problem, and a soloution was reached.
Re the screen refresh
yes its FF V.2.19 i think, (the last of the V2 series).. not happy with V3 on
the tower, on V3 on the lappy, and its not noticeable (yet)
Re IE dont & wont use it....(dont like MS hijacking the browser bar)
Re screen width,
Understand its not sorted yet...
shame, its a real pita on a 22" screen,
Any ideas how long before its resolved ?
BTW are we talking about the centering to remove the grey borders, or the
way the screen goes oversized when images are attached... (both are as
bad as each other)
Re the double spacing of the posts....
partly down to me, partly down to the way things display on screen..
If i type to the edge of the message box xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx!
at the ! it word wraps and posts on the line underneath
when i then post and review it it looks like this
if i type to
the edge of the
message box
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx!
it looks cack. yet other posters seem to be able to go beyond the message
box width... if i manage it, (dont know how) it all ends up on one line,
and looks cack as well
So to make it look half decent, i double space each line.
hth

I've noticed that the issue seems to have reared it's head again. I've viewed my activity log on loading this page and it seems the paths to the icons now contain the "get" portion of the path and they are reporting "not found", which was the behavior before whatever was tweaked to remove the "get" portion of the path, which did seem to address the issue.

Ok, I've read Stu's latest post about the icons and speed issues. Basically they have turned content serving back on and it appears it was this causing the missing icons. When it's on, speed is good, when it's off, icons are missing for some of us and speed is slow for lots of people.
If it's missing icons (whilst the issue is investigated more) vs slow speed, I think I'll take the missing icons.
Quick Q Stu, any possibility of having a textual link for the RTM option instead of the icon, maybe just whilst investigation is going on? same for the post reply icon too? That would/should still show the option, might not look pretty, but would allow functionality for all.

I've run my usual suite of tests (Logout of SN, clear cache, clear history, quit browser, delete all cookies for *scoobynet*, relaunched browser, access forums via www url, then click forums) and it all seems to be working. I've also tried quitting and relaunching, with and without clearing cache, cookies and history and it's still holding up.
I've checked my activity window and I don't see any items reporting a status of "not found" which was the previous indication of the issue.
Bottom line is that icons are visible and the site does seem to be loading quickly, so I'd say it's working! Bladdy excellent work to all of you who were addressing the issue. I don't suppose the tech types would tell a curious soul exactly what the problem was and how it was addressed (PM/email would be fine if they want to keep it off-board).
