Default Dispute Resolution Section

I think it would be a good idea to set one up.

It would be intended to allow members to publically raise disputes with traders or other members where they have failed to resolve a problem privately.

Threads could only be created if an individual has been unable to resolve a problem privately. Postings should contain as much detail as possible including details of any attempts to resolve the matter already, and postings should be factually correct and should not be abusive towards the person in question.

You could introduce some formal terms and conditions for traders which include having to respond to any threads created here in a timely manner. Also a condition that disputes have to be resolved in a manner considered satisfactory by the moderators. Failure to do so resulting in the traders membership renewal being refused or immediate termination of their membership should the matter be serious.

I think overall this would make SN a much better and safer forum to use.

It would also avoid any "Mudslinging" matches when it comes to trader disputes as well as regulating disputes to ensure you only have true and honest traders on here.

It would really move this forum in the right direction, also allow the members to privately debate any issues without any unwanted interference or "trolling".

Any feedback on weather this is already in the pipeline or not would be appreciated.

Thanks

A nice idea in principle, rather like the Dispute centre in PayPal. Unfortunately the difference between here and PayPal is the fact that PayPal holds your money and as such has a certain degree of control over the buyers and sellers account. Thus there is a financial incentive to resolve the dispute.

On SN, the forum and it's team have no control over the dispute nor over the money involved. The water is also muddied by the fact that many scammers and would be con artists that use SN as a vehicle to relieve decent members of their hard earned do some with a degree of anonymity which has proved in the past to be hard to control and manage.

Many of the scammers on here have simply registered, mis-sold items, taken the money and split. Thus SN have posted their guidelines in the trading section to advise the best action and stated that there is no comeback on SN itself if a transaction goes wrong.

Where the dispute section may work is in the case of a simple mis-understanding or disagreement between members on here and in the case where the members are current users of the boards i.e they are not simple cover accounts for scammers. In this instance I can see the dispute section working well as it would take the arguments off the main board.

Good points,

It normally is a small misunderstanding that get's stretched over x amount of pages and days after so many different people chime in.

I also think it would help tenfold with any issues with authorised traders.

It can allow them to sort things out without any fuss, and avoid threads like we have seen which just slate other tuners.

At least it gives both parties a chance to actually discuss and come to an amicable resolution, without dragging anyone's name through the mud.
