Question RTM button, where is it please?

I've asked this in several threads but either received no response at all, or a partial response, so I'm asking it clearly here.

I HAVE done all that Stu suggested in his sticky, but to no avail.

Is it there and I'm missing it? Has it gone? If so how DO we RTM?

It seems to be part of the missing button/image issue. Some people can see the button as we have RTM's coming in.

FWIW, I can't see the button on any of my machines.

Good, this is the best place to do it.

We are getting reports that a select number of users are missing some graphics from the templates and we are unsure at the moment as to why that is. We have verified their existence on the server and had many different users around the country and indeed the world try the forum from a fresh PC and some anonymisers with no problem at all yet others get missing graphics.

Its also hard to replicate as it works on all IB machines and all my own machines here at 3 different sites in the UK, this makes testing potential fixes quite tricky at best as we don't have any machines with this issue.

We are looking into it I assure you, but at the moment there is no ETA on a fix.

It's got me stumpted.

If I paste the below link to the RTM button into a browser window in Firefox it will usually not display it and claim that the image is a PNG 1x1 pixels. Then after between 1 and sometimes 30 forced refreshes it will appear (Gif, 21x17 pixels) . . . another refresh and it's gone again. Very, very odd.

It's missing for me too. Plus, when I tried Ali's ctrl+F5 I lost the on-line/off-line graphic too. Should I also have the small red cross for newbies, or is that gone for good?

Hmm, OK I've tried doing multiple page refreshes.

And on the page load (in IE), the last thing to appear is the RTM icons, I wonder if the page load is terminating early for some reason hence icons not being loaded.

Ha! OK, I've manged to "lose" the RTM icons.

Can confirm it happens in both IE and FF (if you hit ctrl+F5 enough times), hitting crtl+F5 again a few more time usually brings it back.

I think the server maybe terminating the connection early.

All I can say is try repeatedly pressing ctrl+F5 until they appear....it "might" work. Try fiddling with your web cache settings.

In FFox I cleared the cache n then loaded www.scoobynet.com not my main bookmark. The RTM icon has stuck since that. Still don't see the post reply icon though.

But everything is working in all things, Google Chrome

Cracked it! Any of you guys using the 'tab mix plus' addon for Firefox? I just told it to clear any tabmix sessions as well as the cache and it's worked for me. All icons are present

This worked for me. When I came into this thread the online/offline icon was there but the RTM wasn't. I did a CTRL+F5 and the online/offline icon disappeared as well - so nothing was showing. Did CTRL+F5 once more and I not only got the online/offline icon, but also got the RTM one!

Using FF, I have cleared my cache, pressed ctrl +F5 multiple times, and I still get only the occasional online/offline button and no RTM. Haven't seen any newbies, so don't know if the red cross is back.

Clear the cache a few times consequtively. i.e launch FFox, clear cache and offline files. Restart it, clear cache again, Then try, but load www.scoobynet.com not your bbs bookmark.

Post Reply button is missing from the bottom of the page, RTM button comes and goes as it pleases as does the online/offline icon.

I'm not going to clear anything as it's not a problem at my end.

Well that's what I thought, but after clearing the cache a few times, it's been fine in FFox.

They come and go. IB obviously aren't as big and clever as they make out to be.

I doubt they can tie their own shoe laces.

Can anyone tell me what icons I should be seeing as an Orange Club member? At the moment I can't see the RTM button or the red cross for new posters. Have we lost some rights as part of the upgrade/new ownership or it this part of the ongoing bug problem?
