Followed your instructions Stu, made no difference at all. It's your issue I'm afraid, not a local one at all. By the way it happens in IE to (I use FFox) so not a browser problem either.

Few thousand? How are you measuring that? All the threads I've seen so far, all the users are saying the samething, no Post Reply or RTM icons :s

Maybe it's OS related, i.e all XP users are ok Vista users aren't. I'm on Vista.

Ok just installed FFox for the 1st time on the XP work lappy (so fresh install) and RTM icon appears and Post Reply icon appears, hurrah!

Went back into IE7 Ctrl+F5 also cured it, hurrah!

Looks like this could be an OS thang.

But If I close n reopen IE then the icons start dropping off again. Have to F5 the page for them to reappear.

Something is definately amiss server side methinks.

Got the RTM icon workin in FFox on Vista.

The only thing I did differently after clearing the cache was to load up www.scoobynet.com, rather than hitting my bookmark.

'Post Reply' & 'Quick reply to message link next to MultiQuote' icons still aren't there though.

I am wondering if this problem with the buttons maybe a referrer problem. Stu, do you happen to know if the IB image server needs a referring page to serve out the images?

I ask because if I grab the URL of the post reply button, start a new browser session and paste it into the browser address bar the image does not appear yet it does appear on my SN pages. It will of course then be cached and appear if I try it in isolation again, but if I hard refresh it isn't there again.

If it does as I suspect need some form of referring page I wonder if those experiencing problems are running Internet Security software some of which block referrers.

Just a thought.

All very good questions of which I have no answers to.

No worries and I didn't necessarily expect you to. Maybe you can ask the techs, but in the meantime can anyone experiencing the problems post in here if they are running any Internet security software or not and if not maybe try it with it switched off briefly to see if it solves the problem.

To do this I would disble the Internet security software, clear the cache on the browser, shut the browser down, restart it and reload Scoobynet. If that doesn't fix it try a hard refresh (click the refresh button with Scoobynet loaded while holding the SHIFT key down in Internet Explorer - different for other browsers maybe).

still slow here - it feels rather odd that we have to mess around with our own machines to access a website (and those of us who access at work can't mess with the settings). don't have to do this for any other websites - but do have similar problems with sites full of ads.

Now I no longer have an RTM

Speed is a little better but still mostly unusable

Edited to add, posting on a thread or an edit is fine speed wise, its the browsing of the forums that is becoming a real pain from a speed point of view

Whatever the problems are, Stu, they arn't local !!!!

Ive done the call centre fix, () did you honestly think we havnt allready tried those options

Problems in no particular order

1) Clearing cache / cookie/ temp files makes no differance to missing buttons

THEY ARE STILL MISSING

2) Buttons appear at random throughout posts,

3) RTM, infract & whos online, hit and miss, there either there or not there
This varies from post to post! in the same thread!

4) Formatting, Make your mind up, is it to fit a 9" 12" 14" 17" 22" 4:3 or 16:9
Again, post to post it selects the formatting, justification at random

5) Home page, i selected the forum page as my home page.
But on every hit, i get taken to the front page and have to select the forum page
from there, why? its pointless.

6) Post reply
Isnt there, and its not just on my machine, but the lappy, too, and thats had the call centre fix too

7) Speed, either very quick, or very slow, also the way the page loads is odd, it soet
of slides in drom the right, with black boxes appearing rapidly, (if i recall this was an
issue that occured with the last upgrade that Simon did) I cant remember what he did
to fix it, but the problem was your end if i recall.
