[Report faults here] SN Software Upgrade problems topic.

Morning Guys,
Please report any faults you have discovered since the new installation in here. Please don't enter into any discussion, just create a fault report list for us to look at tonight / tomorrow.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The forum sponsors details are no longer shown in full on the topics in the forum that they sponsor and pay for. Might cause quite a few emails and issues.....

With pleasure :)

1. Full width does not do what it says as you get the grey banding to the left and right, even though you do have the ability to manually resize the window

2. The site looks terrible under safari on a mac (but that may be down to it being safari 4 and a beta). Looks slightly better under firefox on a mac, but not my preferred browser. see here for examples

3. Navigation is all over the shop. For example, the easiest way to navigate ALL the forums and see at a glance the top posts per section was to click on the main Scoobynet link under the banner (the start of the breadcrumb). But that now redirects you to the main home page instead ? So you have to go there, then click on the navigation section below that to get to the right section

4. What happened to the My Scooby data that people had taken time to create ? What level of access do you need to use the garage, because I cant

5. Inconsistent colouring across the board with the reply box (and quick reply) in a blue tint.

6. The spelling language seems to be American US by default. For example the above sentence includes colouring. Here is the spell check :nono:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...Picture6-2.png

7. Are we having avatars ? If so how come you cant seem to use them ?

That is the list so far

View my scooby/My garage :wonder: what level of membership do you need?

STim-r 03 March 2009 08:07 AM

Search seems to throw up random things nothing to do with whats being searched for.

Whats with the strange navigation method, there is no way to get back to a main forum menu structure. You need to use that crazy menu system at the top of the page, what its written in I dont know but I do know the coding is blocked as potentialy malicous at work.

The variable width doesnt work properly, on a 1920x1200 monitor, with IE maximised the forum runs about 1/2 the width of the screen, and the adverts go down the right side with a massive white space in between them.

Sorry for posting in the other thread, it took me a long time to find a way to access this one because I cannot use the menu system at the top at work because of the code being blocked as mallicous.

bugeyeandy 03 March 2009 08:10 AM

On my Windows machine running Firefox it puts the username underlines in the wrong place now and again , seems quite random.

At the top of the page - where it shows where you are in the forum (so for this thread it shows 'Scoobynet - Community - Scoobynet General' and underneath it has 'Welcome to the new ScoobyNet forum software') - when I click on 'Scoobynet' - I'd expect it to take me back to the root of the forum, but instead it takes me back to the homepage of Scoobynet, I then have to choose subaru forum (from the site navigation list of the right) to get back to the root. Could you change that so it takes it back to the forum root?

+1 on navigation issues, i cant seem to get to the WYIOC pages without using the http:// link that i know off the top of my head. anyway back to a regular menu system?

edit... i can get there, but have to go browse to scoobynet, then subaru forum, then clubs, so i can get there, but not quite as easily as before, this might confuse newer members!

Can't add a picture gallery or garage, not enough privileges.
+3 on the navigation, it's horrible.

Apart from that one or two glitches but it looks like it will be good when finished.

scooby1doo1 03 March 2009 09:08 AM

+4 navigation

Jay m A 03 March 2009 09:19 AM

The main Admin guy has a pic of a BMW in his avatar - must be a bug :D

StickyMicky 03 March 2009 09:40 AM

Was going to suggest the link to the forum root, but it has already been done :D

only thing i noticed is that some peoples "AV message" have a line through them ?

MJW 03 March 2009 10:02 AM

If you click on 'Photo Gallery' in the orange strip (next to User CP) loads of porn links come up

RA Dunk 03 March 2009 10:13 AM

photo gallery is being spammed to death

Kieran_Burns 03 March 2009 10:28 AM

cleaned out now

Markus 03 March 2009 12:53 PM

As per my other thread:

1) Full width, well, isn't :D Makes the thread listing look squashed.

2) Background colors on certain items don't match the usual style. Seems to be the Panel Surround (CSS Selector: .pannelsurround) and Panel (Forms) (CSS Selector: .panel) style items.

3) I cannot add a new Garage, I get a page stating I do not have permissions to do so.

4) I cannot add a new Photo Album, I get a page stating I do not have permissions to do so.

5) Font size and style for user names is not consistent. Regular users' names are in larger type than if you are, for example, an orange full member (and have selected your group assignment as such).

I think that's it for the moment.

And with mine - running the FF 3.1 beta. But IE seems fine on this one.

Slow and un useable. It's like dial up all over again.

mit 03 March 2009 02:05 PM

1 Yep, navigation for me too.
2 Lost all my car details, wished we were warned this would happen, as i can't remember it all myself!
3 All my pics have gone, can't add garage, and I'm a plus member.
4 Avatar doesn't work for me too.
5 The unread bold post thing still a problem
6 New user cp threads disappear even when i don't read them.
7 Put it back the way it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aztec Performance Ltd 03 March 2009 03:34 PM

Navigation problems here also.

It's normal for there to be teething problems and I'm sure it'll be sorted :thumb:

tanyatriangles 03 March 2009 03:41 PM

I can't stay logged on, (when I leave the site, despite telling it to remember me, it won't), and when I DO log on, it refuses to recognise me, saying I'm unregistered, until I go to, say, NSR, then it recognises me.

Premium membership link does nothing.
No info on membership at all or what each type does :wonder: Can you upgrade to the next level without paying full again?
Garage is not working (I hope any paid members can access this)
Avatars not working
Navigation tools are crap to many of them but guess will get used to that.

Boro 03 March 2009 04:18 PM

Ahh, i did create another topic, not seeing this. The link to premium membership doesnt work.

Evolution Stu 03 March 2009 04:48 PM

Thansk for your feedback thus far. The technitions are reading and working from this topic as agree.

Garage and scooby avatar problems should now be fixed.

The options are being overhauled and will be back as soon as I can sign them off.

Phil 03 March 2009 04:53 PM

Garage now working for Plus Members

Markus 03 March 2009 05:01 PM

I can confirm that Garage and Photo Album are now working for Orange Club Members, and it also appears to be working for regular user accounts too.
