I think going beyond is worth tipping, for example if said delivery person was to bring grocerys into your house and unpack them (which a lot do for the older customers) thats worth a tip ! as its certainly not part of their job .. in fact I dont think they are insured to go into the house!

It depends where you offered to put it and whether he likes that kind of thing ...

We had the same one from Asda for a year, on and off, he was excellent so we gave hime a card at Christmas with a tenner in it, wouldnt tip on a weekly basis.

I think I would do the same if I got my shopping delivered. If the guy was the same, then a tip for Christmas, but not weekly, just for dropping some bags at my house. I would tip on an individual basis if a driver went beyond his duties though.

To a point, I don't get this tipping thing, and how it is decided who (as in what jobs) get tipped. I know it is nice to reward good service, but I work in the service industry, and no matter how helpful I am, in my line of work we never get tipped (not that we're allowed to accept them anyway).Tbh, as Micky mentioned earlier, it's difficult enough to get a bloody thank you.

I tipped the driver from Ocado today as he kept phoning and the answerphone kept cutting in, it must've been really annoying as he was kept waiting for about five minutes before I realised he was here and I felt really bad.
