A friend ran a totally standard 535D M sport on 19s up the york drag raceway yesterday and managed to consistenly get 14.2 @ 100mph. Not bad for such a big car

My astra diesel (1.9 16V) is running around 400ftlb torque and when I was at Oulton park I was keeping up with some silly cars (M3s, Scoobs, track cars) but mine has been quite heavily tuned, especially the handling aspect .
Although I'm now looking at a JDM STI because diesels are just boring in the long term! ANd I'm pretty sure I can make my STI go alot faster for the same sort of money iv spent on my car!!!

This works both ways. I've had three scoobs, with the last beinbg a T20 and I was wanting something diofferent...

12 months on with my mapped 335D and I have no regrets at all...

But I can see me wanting to move on to something different again. Caterhams and even a Maser Gran Turismo, R35 GTR. Porker 996 GT3 have reared their heads for next year.... swings and roundabouts for a petrol head I suppose.

Very true. All good cars.
Suppose is the fun of being a petrol (car) head is that there are so many great cars and just not enough great time.
No matter how fast or great a car is im sure something better is always within your grasp
