That's one of the reviews i read before i made the leap. It is a good review and highlights (possibly) one of the issues encountered by peanuts as well as a cure.

Independents and the votes seem to be on the side of good rather than bad.

They are brilliant tyres ...... I change them every 2 years and have a very nice day out, taking in a lovely meal, on the money I save over the Badge Snob Tyres

Agreed, and ive driven her car very aggressivly through B roads and the car sticks to the road like glue.

obviously all tyres have limits but then again you also have to wear a tyre

I think there good for the money compared to anything else in the dry and wet, i will certainly get a set soon

i would recommend Yoko Prada spec 2 for dry weather or even Toyo 888's for the dry but forget these tyres in the wet. no point and living in this beautiful country 3 quarters of the year its always raining.

my 2 cents

I'll add my weight to this thread in support of the 452's. I've had them since last october and paid £280 fitted, which when compared to F1's at £110 each is a substantial saving! Budget was king this year, as I spent £450 on tyres in 2007!
First impressions of the 452's where as I'd been warned, very slippy, but after about 500 - 600 miles they started to loosen up and get a whole lot gripier. They improved even more since, and apart from a nail last week, I've had no trouble with them. I've found them not as good as my previous F1's, but then I didn't expect them to be. What has surprised me though is that they're not a million miles away from the performance of the F1's, for nearly half the price! Go figure!

Shop around. I got Goodyear Eagle F1's for under £80 each fitted last year. I really rate them and it would take more than saving a few quid to tempt me towards anything else. The few negative comments on Falkens would always make me wonder, i'd rather have piece of mind and spend an extra £50.

I missed out on F1's for around £88 each around august last year, which was too early to buy really anyway as my tyres were ok then. By the time I really needed new tyres, I needed 4 new ones and the best price I could get them for was around £110. They're not making them anymore as they've been replaced with the asymetrics, which are even dearer!
I'd love to be able to buy the best tyre on the market, but unfortunately budget is everything atm

You could start a thread asking for view on any tyre including R888, Parada 2s, Pirelli P1s etc and you will always find someone who has had a bad experience.

In this thread the majority of people, who are basing their comments on first hand experience, a happy with these tyres. Yes the may be a bit ropey on the limit in the wet, but who is really stupid enough to find out with their pride and joy. As Sunny says, I can think of plenty of things to spend the difference on and a meal isn't a bad idea.

The only negatives i 've seen about F1s was the dodgy people bringing in batches that weren't meant for the european market what other ones have you heard or seen.
I've used F1s for a few years now and can't fault them but i'm always on the look out for bargains (that are good)
Not saying you shouldn't buy the Falkens as i've been looking at new tyres and Camskill have these and a few other tyres at discounted rates

Thanks for all the reply's ppl.

Looks like there are some good experiences with these tyres out there so will have to make my mind up wether to go for these or not.

Have seen the Vredesteins getting good feedback recently so may look at these as they are not as cheap as the falkens but still reasonable.

Top Tyres

For those who know, rather than for those who just care about a badge and name.

A hyperlink at that price would be very useful for those who like that brand but after browsing a few sites I very much doubt you will be able to provide one. Just to buy them in the correct Subaru size direct from Falken would set you back £100 more than you say and that doesn't include fitment!

I went for a tyre that was recommended, within budget and feels good on the road after asking the opinions of 'those in the know' on here.
