not saying i've been pigging out over christmas, but today was the first time i've felt hungry for 10 days.

which can't be good, being stuffed for that length of time

this year really will be the year for losing a bit of weight. i've always said i don't give a toss how much i weigh, it's when i think i look too big i'll do something about it. and i've noticed i'm a bit of a porker

i'll never be small but there's noooooooo way i'm going up a waist size.

I've never been in worse shape. I'm 6ft, 18stone and am utterly pissed off.

10 years ago I ran the london marathon in a very respectable time and was a serving member of the Royal Marines. There weren't many people fitter than me in those days.

Needless to say I've joined a Gym (worked out everyday since xmas) and I aim to be 15 stone by my Birthday in July.

Gaining size has a lot to do with your genetics. People fall in to three categories ectomorph ( skinny hard gainers), endomorph ( plump/overweight) or mesomorph ( muscular/well built). Your ability to gain lean muscle mass will be determined by your genetic heritage. This doesn't diminish the importance of exercise and good nutrition irrespective of bodyshape.
You can still alter your shape/size with a combination of exercise and good diet. Some people go for chemical assistance and they will make a big difference. The key is finding a routine and diet that works for YOU, it's alright people telling you to do this and that. However you are the person that knows your body the best, you will be able to ascertain what works and what doesn't. Consistency and dedication is the key.

Ps Sal there is nothing wrong with voluptuous women. A few pounds in the right places is nothing to lament.

Like Fractions you need to quote the remainder, i.e. how much hangs over the front

I think I lost some over Christmas due to a cold and being a bit fitter, even my skinny little brother said I looked thin (its all subjective), I have been saying I am sixteen stone for ages but I suspect it may actually be around 15 these days, still not back on the bike though, Snow and Ice are a good reason for being a wuss, after bravado nearly getting me killed I will quite happily take the car whilst the weathers crap.

Me- half a stone! It's not so much the eating that's done it but the inactivity. Normally I do a physical job and I burn it off.
