Anyone thought about it from the horse's perspective?
I know you would need to be a horse whisperer to get it from the horses mouth.
But do they actually enjoy being taken out of their natural habitat ie fields & woods & then get thrust into an alien environment with all it's scary sights & sounds?
Do they like having red hot metal burn off their toe nails & then have nails hammered in their feet just so they can go walkabout on hard surfaces? I know it doesn't hurt them but do they know that before hand? I don't think so.
Do they even like going for long boring walks along roads where they can't even get a nibble of grass & then have to listen to some boring rider prattling on about some inane subject to another equally boring rider along side them?
Wouldn't they rather be gambling about with their own kind in a field with space to run & do what horses do.
I don't think the old chestnut "Horses were here before cars were" washes either.
When did man ever worry about what came first?
Didn't do the North American Indians much good did it?
Or the Aborigines.
All IMHO of course.
(I come from a livestock farming background & bred pigs for 15 years & love horses but couldn't eat a whole one)

Well dont they have the equivelent of a 3 year old childs mental age? most 3 year olds are pretty scared of big metal things, though horses are a bit bigger than cars
