It was the summer of '93 and I was in my first engineering placement as a student. One of the designers had a little 'aide-memoire' which, unfortunately, I can't repeat in full on a public forum, but it helped the colour sequence stick in my mind straight away.

Is the brief to design a poster with "Electrical Symbols" or "Safety Signs"

I think it may be symbols, which have been listed here (the hand drawn one). Safety signs are a completely different thing.
