I agree, have driven a Mexico, 3dr Sierra Cosworth and an Escort cosworth, and I do prefer a scoob, but I'm a classic Ford man at heart

Given half the chance, i would swap my scoob for a ST220 Mondeo, obviously in the blue pack, looks soooooo nice, and has more legroom than my scoob.

Got to admit it, I agree with you again, it definately is a nice looking car, subtle bodykit and big wheels to set it off!

I had a Mondeo Ghia X V6 and that was great to drive, though loads of torque steer!

Paul, just out of interest when was the last time you drove a quick Mk1 or 2?

Only wonder as I also would love another one, but it was over 20 years since I last owned one (MK2 RS2000, with grp 1 engine 180-190bhp and grp 4 suspension), and I do wonder if they really would still be good, especially after having driven a few quick modern cars?

Last time I drove a modded Mk2 was 16 years ago, when I got my first car, a Modena green 1600 sport, (4-2-1 manifold, cherry bomb, Webber DGAV carb from a Sierra and K&N filter) at the time I thought it was rapid, until I saw another Mk2 (yellow) rag it onto the A13 from Tilbury southend bound and it left me for dead!!

That workshop is an automotive goldmine

In general technical, a guy is putting a WRX engine with a converted 2 wheel drive box running through the rear wheels in a mk5 escort (if I remember correctly)
