Bob,
Got your number Bob. See you at seven at the little chef.
Rum,
My car is actually an MY00 in Sonic Blue. I'll keep a look out for you and look forward to meeting you.
Better get myself to bed now.
Damian.

What a day!
I haven't had so much fun for ages!
It was great to meet some new faces or should I say, put faces to user names and it was good to see some familiar ones!
Hope to see you all again soon.

Well what a great day! great weather!
thanks to Rum for lending me the camera mount! awesome!
All the footage came out good! the front left hand of the sceen looked the fastest, and the one where we had it mounted in the back window was perfect! must get one! gave it back to Ian a you said.
Thanks Mellow for your kind assistance in lending me your tool for taking wheels off! and for the advice! i managed to shave 10 seconds off my first lap time by the end of the day ending up 1 min 50seconds. so im very pleased.
And a awesome drive matey! you certainly would take some catching!
nice to meet everyone else too! jamie W and girlfriend, Harvey, scooby wagon, and BOB doing his land speed attempt on his mini moto, my mate who was paxing with me races 600 superstock and he said your brave with no leathers on at that speed! looked a classic! specialy when that bird tried to write the front buumper off that M3
see ya all again! Lee

Thanks for your kind words Lee....
A great day for sure, weather, cars and people...even lunch was lurvly
Sorry to all I didn't manage to take out for a ride....that's the problem with sessions.....so little time
Best time I did of the day according to Harvey (Mr Tag Heur) was a 1 min 40.5 secs and this was 2 up .... Heavier springs should enable an even greater speed through corners in future
Best qoute of the day was the girl who came out with me....." P1's are my dream car....this has made my day....."
Then as we went sideways around Tower " Feckin hell....this is better than sex " !!!!
I replied " Well, that depends on who you're having it with "
Over and out

The bike does about 45mph, when I'm racing i wear a helmet and other protetion It's awesome fun tho... anyone see me waste the GXR1000?
What about the guy on the stunt bike at lunch.... briliant

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the ride.
Very impressed with the brakes & handling. Puts my STi 6 Wagon in the shade.
What do I need to do to my suspension to get that sort of grip & control.
The driving ability made me feel absolutely safe right from the start.
As your fastest two laps were two up what does that tell you?(apart from me not being that heavy)
Harvey.
P.S. Got that birds phone number? Must be some sort of interesting possibilities there.
Thanks again.

What I want to know is - who is going on the 6th May?
I tried to organise an event for this date, but had to let it go for lack of enthusiasm (apart from you Lee and a couple of others!)
Why don't we all make an effort to go?
I'm coming back with NOS like those two Pugs though!

OK......OK.....I'll leave a few tasty morsals on the side
6th May would be but me and a fair few others are over at the RING that weekend
Do you think some of the motors in the newbie group should've been in the more experienced group ? I do !
What was very, very pleasing is that although in sessions there were no spin offs etc....that closed the track for recovery (apart form a couple of breakdowns and that open top thingy) which believe me is superb and a true testement to everyone's driving ability on the day

err... You obviously didn't see my spin! Although I did catch it and stayed on the track!
I knew quite a lot of people were going to the Ring, you'll have to let us know how it goes!

Sorry Spen! - I didn't like it when stuff came whoring past me when I was ragging the **** off my little Puma! I miss the Imprezas power! Mind you I didn't think I'd ever be held back by a M Coupe (1st and last session)!!!
One of my favourite bits was on the 4 session, when the silver 106 had to pit cos his NOS had ran out, he came out of the pits way ahead but I caught him by the chicane and past him by the top end near the tight right hander before the left onto the finish straight! Oh how we laughed!
My tyres were knacked totally, the backs are now on the limit and the fronts have lost half their tread (they were brand new)!
It was my first track day but have definitely got bitten by the bug!
See you next time (hopefully with something with a good top end as well as good cornering!)!
BTW - Mellow Yellow - I particularily liked the way your car made the Tuscan sound like a Vectra as you whistled past!

Speaking about exhaust notes. I was disappointed with the exhaust notes of the TVR, Porsches and especially the Ferrari. Lee's, Mellow Yellow's and the Guy with the STi7 all sounded fantastic in comparison.

He He Damien! doesent sound to bad eh just with a pesky back box and airfilter!, im sure they sold me something else? quite a few ask what it is and when i say Magnex they say oh

Jamie the 6th could be good as i enjoyed it ALOT!
i will have to see? miht do Oulton instead if funds permit!
im getting spare wheels and tyres so im not worrying about my new tyres i ust fitted!
Lee
p.s i wonder if all those Porsches and bimma's will be in the faster groups next time? very strange, 911 RsR and GT3 going round with Pugs?

Lee,
Was the GT3 the yellow one? That was the only car I didn't overtake on the day. Harvey had me overtaking the 911 RSR first just to get me into the groove.

He He chris i could be tempted, im on holiday the week before so no pennys for me that week!
but i am sorely tempted!
im gonna try and get my wheels sorted before then!
ive hear it can be tricky and not to touch any of the kerbs if its wet
but its nice and local and ive watched the touring cars there, so...i think its time to get meself a instructor in!

Corner (Well I saw plenty of them at Croft!) LOL!
This was my first track day and I had never even been to spectate at one of these before.
I went out on my own for the first session. For a while I was following Jamie's Puma and eventually overtook him on the straight. I was then at the front and so I had to find the racing line myself. As I had no clue what I was doing Jamie and the Pug 106's were always behind me. I felt a bit uncomfortable with this and have to say I did not enjoy it.
On the second session I took out Super Slider (Michael Townend) who gave me some very good pointers and my driving improved a lot. I was now starting to enjoy it.
On the third session Harvey came in my car and gave me a running commentary of what to do. While I was learning from Harvey two 911's flew past me. Shortly after though I had reeled one of the 911's back and passed him. I was then enjoying it immensely as Harvey had got me pushing the car to the edge of adhesion and I was able to do four wheel drifts and get the back end out.
On my fourth session Super Slider came in as a passenger again and he commented that it was like 'Jackel & Hide' the difference to when he first came in the car with me.
On my fifth session I was on my own and was thoroughly enjoying myself now. My best time as timed by Harvey was 1 min 49 secs I think from memory.
So I owe a big thanks to Lee P (for suggesting I do this & for the reg plate screw), Mellow Yellow (providing me with NF Octane Booster and putting me right with the tyre pressures). Super Slider for giving me some badly needed instruction. Harvey for giving some further instruction and enabling me to get my car to its limits and sorting me out to get my front reg plate back onto the car.
I ended up having a brilliant day. My Toyos tyres stood up to the task quite well and the standard discs survived with the mintex pads.
Damian.
