The difference being, Mediums call on any spirit, as apposed to a good spirit or a particular spirit that they know is good..
I would expect people to say to me not to have a (for example) prayer meeting in the school. But as it goes they don't. And if they did then I would fully understand.

We have already had the comment that mediums have nothing to do with religion when that is not the case, there are spiritualist churches out there and now we have a misconception that mediums contact any old spirit. Some may claim to, others claim to have a spirit guide that they contact who brokers the information between the medium and the spirit world. Again this is the MO for Sylivia Browne, a particularly vile individual IMHO.

There have been countless so called mediums who have been caught out for fiddling and there may well others who do have some kind of genuine abilities in that direction.
There are also caes of people who have been seriously badly mentally affected by such things and I personally think it is best left alone, and that goes for Ouija boards as well.
