As good as these pictures are, I still feel they don't do the car justice. This will be quite a machine when it's finished.

Looking forward to a passenger ride

I'm proper disillusioned with this bloody car at the minute. I've never been happy with the paint work and I now think that I don't like the graphics. So much so I'm thinking of renting out a workshop unit and doing a full on strip down to a bare shell, doing an inside and outside colour change and build the bugger from the ground up.

I will also blast and powder coat all the subframes hubs arms etc.

I may even go as far as a wide arch kit, I LOVE the car in this pic but it would have to be a different colour.

Any suggestions on colours though?

I just want it to look as good as my white one did.

The colour and graphics are very distinctive.. give yourself time to get used to them. I'm more of a 'stealth look' person myself but everyone will know when you've arrived with this look and it'll be great at meets etc...

Yours is a marmite car!! personally colour scheme and body style has **** all to do with how the car works! People base their opinion on your car on how it looks as compared to say the "gobstopper" or say "Zens car" ??? I understand how people think about power, but they forget about all the peeps who have 500bhp plus and have maintained a quality car at a low cost !!!!!!!!!

put the kit on but is that the direction you want to go ???? personally I think it looks

I love your car Daz, but the colour isn't my taste. cool grey would be awesome or a solid red - all IMHO of course.

Did your sort a gearbox out in the end?

Cheers for the comments guys I guess I just need to refocus.

Craig, I haven't yet mate still on my to do list. This is the problem when you're not buidling a car on loans and credit cards and just relying solely on the wages you get every month. A six speed conversion is pretty much a months wages for me and with rent and other **** to pay it just takes time

I've got a 5 speed DCCD with a UK 5th in the later TY54 case.
So I'm pretty sure it won't be what you want lol

It'll be an ideal candidate for that but if I'm honest you'd be better of sourcing a broken 5 speed. You'd have to change the front diff in mine too as it's a 4.444:1

I think your just getting fed up with it because each morning you go to work and just see it sat there, not moving. Once the engines in and your driving it, you'll love it.

Still think the unit is a good idea!

Finally got to see the Graphics on sat, look really good, pictures don't do them justice.

I've put on a rebuilt DCCD 5 speed for the time being and have just had a massive clutch and lightweight flywheel bargain today.

Brand new 5.4kg flywheel and an Exedy clutch kit complete with new release bearing for £330 delivered.

I'm fully aware the clutch wont cope with power but niether will the gear box. It is perfect for running it all in though.

When it's run in then I'll get a new clutch, gearbox and a full on mapping session

Here's some pictures of the clutch bargain.

get it done and drive it for a bit, will soon like it!!!

would seem a bit pointless to have it painted (although not to your standards) and then graphic'ed only to rip it off straight away

why not give it a year and you could do the strip,colour-change and wide arch when you have a clear idea of what you want to do

personally i think a light satin grey with black.....

Busy couple of days.

Car went down to Custom Pipes yesterday to have some bespoke intercooler pipework made up.

This is how the day started.

Empty engine bay

On the trailer ready to go.

Arrived and off loaded

Measured up and made

Back on the trailer

The end result. The pipes have only been welded up they have yet to be buffed and polished.

Thanks to Steven Darley and Steve Beatie I've finally managed to source some cambelt covers.
Despite some battle scars they've turned out well after painting. I used a good quality plastic primer the remainder of my one off purple and some 2 pack Lacquer.

Here's the final result

I've also had the intcooler pipes polished up and obtained some proper clamps for the hoses.

Cambelt will go on in next day or two.
