Im down that slipery slope mate. Ive been offered good money for my 30R, hence the want to swap to the 35R. Especially since now the block has a bit more support in the way of the inserts.
If you decide you want JDM heads i can get the chambers machined for you just like mine. Just another option if you fancy it?
The car wont be my daily drive so now worried about it being alittle laggier, just fancy going a we bit bigger while i have the chance. Hoping to make it comfortably into the 500's with less boost and stress on the motor on the 35R than the 30R

Things are really beinning to take shape with this now.
Thought I'd put the GT35 and the 44mm Wastegate on and associated pipework to see how it all looks.
I'm going to do the inlet manifold in the crinkle black I think as it will match the turbo compressor housing, intercooler pipe work, water cross pipe and the cam covers. I shall then use red samco's throughout which should make it all look very nice indeed.
Here's a few pics to give you a better idea of how it all goes together and what it will look like when it's finished.

looks amazing mate, the pipe work is awsome.
Dont no if you remember a while back you gave me some advice on the wiring of a bosch 044 externa inline pump, could i just ask mate what size cable did you use, and what size inline fuse in your setup?.

Saw some nice stuff down at RCM the other day which had titanium in it and seemed alot more pliable than the usual stuff so I think I'm going to give that a whirl.
Ian I have used some 30amp cable and a 30 amp fuse iirc.
Don't blame you mate, ceramic route is very expensive which is why I have stuck with wrap on my 2
Have heard some good things about the DEI titanium wrap Daz this may be the stuff that you saww at RCM its also easier to wrap than the conventional....and have also come accross a few people who have now decided to wrap their ceramic coated bits? (also running 600+ with GT35R's) never got a chance to query further unfortunately.

As I'm going to have to paint a few other things and being that Frosts have changed the colour of the crinkle red to some god awful poppy red colour I've decided to redo the inlet manifold black. This will now match the turbo compressor housing and intercooler pipework.

Heads are 2006 AVCS heads with Supertech Valves, supertech double valve springs, steel spring seats and titanium retainers.
I'm currently waiting for one piece buckets of the correct size to turn up (measured the clearances last week) and then I am going to put the standard cams in to get some miles on the car. I will then be getting it mapped to see what the stock cams can do and then at a later date swap for Cosworth S2 cams, another remap and a back to back comparisson of what difference just swapping cams make.

Daz,
I can save you the trouble of testing the cams. Against JDM 2.0 standard cams the Cossie cams were worth about 50hp on the 2.1 I tested them with. Given the need to reshim the engine and ideally time the cossie cams in on the exhaust side (pulleys allowing) I would certainly recommend just doing it all in one hit.
All the cars I've been involved in that have used the cossie cams have all made great results, and in fact those with GT35R turbos have had what I consider to be "best in class" results.
Unless of course you don't have the cams yet, in which case ignore what I just said!

Ideally I'd just buy the Cosworth ones and have done with it but I really cant just now.
I've now got the cams fitted in the heads and all the clearances with the correct size 1 piece lifters are all sorted.
So it was time to tart the tatty cam covers out in what is becoming my trade mark crinkle black

A few more small jobs and the engine will be ready for dropping into the car.
