Up and down day at the pod today. Really busy and only got 4 runs. 2 new PB's though @ 11.3 then 11.2 and then................broken driveshaft ! Luckily for me Sy was there with his trailer and took me down to Zen and Paul fixed it straight away so I could drive home.
So 2 massive thanks, one to Sy for missing out on a couple of runs himself to get me to Zen (what an absolute star!) and to Paul for sorting my car as always.
Subarus are great, but today proves that the people you meet through our shared interest in these cars are even better.

Good to have met you today at The Pod Hammer. I have your time slips. PM me your address and I will post them to you mate.
Good ET's too (11.27 @ 128.05mph)
I too would like to say a huge thanks to Sy for letting me have 5 runs in his monster.
Never been on the strip before so it was a big learning curve for me trying to cope with 600 lb/ft, NO2 and ALS.
Sy did provide me with basic instructions "just watch the lights, floor the thing and hold on" which helped considerably !
My best ET was an 11.3.
Sy had a couple of runs in the 10's again
Truely awesome car you have there Sy ! and well done again Hammer.

Likewise Clive thanks for the food and drink delivery too
11.3 ! Well done mate, you nearly beat me ! Impressive stuff considering your first ever go at driving one of these monsters.

Yes - it was a good day - didnt improve on PB of 10.6 from the week before - lots of fun thou.
Mad - I like your style when putting your car on the trailer - im on the winch - pulling me nuts out - your misses and kid are straining their backs pushing your car - and youre in the driving seat reading NUTS magazine!
My last run was about 6.30 pm - dark, so headlights on - prestaged - ALS on, full throttle - edge forward - staged, see the yellows in my periferal vision, bang, dumped the clutch - im off - flat shifting and flying - what i didnt account for was im using a small light weight 24ah battery in the boot - all the power was sapped by the engine and the lights dimmed to less than 1 millionth of a lit match - but keep my foot in and praied that I dont hit something - over the line - off the power lights come back on!!! PMSL

You would be correct Hammer

We are not talking about an average 300 - 350bhp Scoob here.
I realise as you do the money involved with big power, and I also realise that in this case that costs would not have been an issue, but it's the principle of destroying a guys pride & joy and if I were truthful I was really concerned about that.
However, nothing happened and I really enjoyed the day, and as you mentioned in your pm our cars will be fairly close I guess.
Now doubt we shall be in competition somewhere some day
Are you running NO2 Hammer? and did you feel your 11.2 run was a good run regarding start and shifts ?? or do you know it could have been a tadge quicker ?
That was a good time mate when considering you were only two tenths away from a 10 second run !!!!
Slips in the post.
There were plenty of Skylines present at The Pod some with big power, by Sy's car made them look totally stupid.
His Impreza is mighty quick. You realise how quick it is once you have gone over the finish line and check you centre mirror to see the guy you were up against is still flat but only half way up the strip, not to mention the fact your ********* are very nearly entering your **** passage
Peter, you must have your dates wrong - my misses was born in 1967 and shes definatly an OX

"daddy's not gonna win against this is he..."
"only of it spins out and blows up...that's the only way he's gonna win!"

My car has no NO2 I just run V-Power + 20% meth. There is deffo more time in the car, my second run was better but my change to second could have been better tbh. Was chatting to Paul (Zen) when he was popping my new driveshaft in and he said with my terminal speeds it will do 10's. I just need to practice. I felt my best launch of the day was the last one when the shaft broke...typical
I was going to edit them but made me smile so had to share.Clive
