Just to clear up a misconception, the K+N filter as supplied by K+N will not cause any MAF sensor issues.
If an oiled filter causes MAF sensor problems it has been over oiled or has a very open weave or both.
Ensure you fit the largest filter that can be accomodated in the space available. Lots of cars only a little over 300 bhp have filters that are a constriction. When considering a filter also consider what it has to do. ie. remove particles from the air so an OPEN filter mesh or sponge is not the best choice for engine longveity.
Personally I prefer to make my own induction kits utilising silicon hose, stainless steel light guage pipe (or aluminium) and whatever else comes to hand. There are some good kits on the market but make sure the filter is adequate for your aspirations.

Absolutely true. I've had no issues for a couple of years with mine, nor have I had with K&Ns on any of my other cars. It's simply a matter of following the instructions when you re-oil them. They shouldn't be wringing wet with oil, but barely tacky. Like most people I did consider an Apexi dry kit when fitting my FMIC but I'm not convinced that it's the right solution, unless you are willing to throw it away once it's dirty. It seems to me that, like the STi panel filter, it's essentially a paper hoover element which once clogged is useless. It can't be properly cleaned out once the pores and fibres are stuffed up with dirt.

Problems with the APS CAIK (inner wing kit) are that they can make you run approx 30% lean untill mapped, and fitting a FMIC with it (ESPECIALLY a hybrid kit which is a PITA to fit anyway) will be a hard job, as it occupies the void in the wing that the IC pipework needs to use.
