Of course I deliberately left out Hugh Cornwell.
As regards Strummer, can anyone imagine "London Calling", "Complete Control" or the sublime "White Man in Hammersmith Palais" sung by anyone else? I certainly can't. Any other singer would sound ***** by comparison.

I fear that, like the chap in Monty Python's "argument" sketch, unclebuck has to take up the
contrary position .

Poor old Jimmy Pursey.
Sadly, he truly believed everything he sang, didn't he?

Played a few AAE tracks on YouTube last night. For a goth babe she was very appealing, and a lovely voice.
Other females I like include Sarah Maclachlan ('Angel' is beautiful), Heather Nova, Margot Timmins as the voice of Cowboy Junkies and Alison Krauss.
