Once played early morning leapfrog with a TVR Chimera on a clear motorway, me in an Audi A4 2.4. We got to a very illegal speed when he decided to show me what it could really do, waved and just .... disappeared!

Still in the Audi, played with an EVO VI, again he let me keep up
for a bit then we hit a clear stretch of dual carriageway and he floored it. It pulled away really quite, especially considering we were already doing 80 and it was an up-hill stretch, but I bet he paid for it later 'cos when he hit the gas it was belching greyish brown smoke - looked like he was riding the clutch ???

I don't drive an Audi anymore

All the best,

Deano

There seems to be a consistant theme here - the majority of the cars that go past very quickly are those that are "drivers" cars as opposed to your usual "flash git" cars !!!

Good to see TVR & Scooby etc !

Has to be a supercar or very modded car to leave a Subaru IMHO...I am new to Subaru's...my last car was a Clio 172...it was quick but Impreza is quicker and safer....

Another Lamborghini Diablo

Driving to the British GP last year really early in the morning. I was trying to catch up with some friends and was travelling about 13mph in the me little Porsche.
In my rear-view mirror I saw a little yellow dot get bigger and bigger. Then woooosh!
This yellow Lambo went past me like I was standing still. Probably doing 180mph+
Well cool!!

Mark

PS I agree with Dingy about Paul Bailey and his MKII Escort. It passed me when I was a passenger at Snetterton (In a 300bhp Scoob). It came up so f**king quick it made me jump.

I remember that one Toerag - 'This is a lambo - it costs eleventy squillion quid - It is the second fastest car in the world.' Then cuts to scene of Lambo caining it round the track and plumers van sitting up his *** flashing the lights. True classic

Got embarrased by a purple McLaren once. Main road from Sligo to Galway, noraml A road, but wide enough to be a 6 lane motorway. One part goes through the mountains, so there are no side roads, no people and very little other traffic. I was 'trying out' my FireBlade. Flat out so between 160 and 170 probably. I wasn't really watching my mirrors, as I wasn't expecting that anything would be catching me. Car pull up beside me - I look over and try not to fall off - he nods and ***** off over the horizon. About 10 miles (3 mins ) later I stopped for petrol. He was there putting 120.00 quid of SUL in it.

My old next door neighbours R1 with a flashy exhaust.

Left me at a ton on one wheel, no chance. In fact he used to like doing that to me the GIT. Was a different story going into and round a roundabout where he had no chance, just a pity there was a nice long straight the other side

Got to be done though

Matt

I was going along the M5 on my heavily modded space hopper and a F15 tomcat pulled up beside me. The pilot got out and did some back flips on the wings before cooking some burgers on the afterburner. I flipped him the bird before hitting a raher legal 3mph. The pilot just opened up and before I could blink he entered a worm hole and ended up at a garage on the other side of the galaxy putting 5 trillion pounds of fuel into his hog.

Got left behind by an Evo VI last year.
Was surprised at how easily he left my MY99.

Then remembered I had 3 fat chicks in the car!
(he was on his own).

BMW M5

Very late, very dark, pulling onto motorway from sliproad and noticed "something" had followed me round the roundabout rather briskly.

Anyway, joined an empty motorway and continued to monitor my rear view mirror - the pair of lights settled in so close behind, it could easily be misconstrude as provocation.

Booted the scoob for all it was worth...and to my horror the lights stayed right up my ar$e. It was only when the car pulled out and overtook me with EASE (I was flat out in third) that I realised just how quick a BMW M5 is.

That was the day I realised that my pride and joy Scooby (PPP+Scoobysport Zorst) belonged in the Nationwide Division 1 League.

Nice one Damaja

Strangely enough I have actually "raced" a Mig 25.
We were at Leuchars airshow - overtaking the cars on the grass on the way in (on my KLR 650)
I was parallel with the mig and started giving it some, leaning forward in the manner of one who would wear a baseball cap. The pilot did the same and gave us the thumbs up - eee I were right chuffed

Angry

I bought my Golf GTI 2.0 16v in Edinburgh and was delighted as to how much quicker it was than my XR2i... On the way home from Edinburgh to Aberdeen I was zipping along at 120 when a P1 flew past me. I accelerated... but never saw the car again. Damn. That ruined my day.

My new alloys, suspension etc for the Golf have never been ordered. Instead, I'm saving for an Impreza.

Trout & cc - had a go with an RS4 the other day - he pulled about 10 yards in 2nd, but I held him in 3rd (ever so slightly pulled a bit back), never got into 4th as old codger on same slip road was in the way & I held back as it would have been dangerous to overtake as merging with motorway imminent
question is RS4 has 350 - 400 bhp, but high kerb weight 2100kg's
Trout what bhp & llb's is your motor running ? I expected to get blown away.....he probably would have got better the futher through the gears we went

shunty - MY95 UK standard

I can catergorically say that I bought the scoob 'cos it goes quick and has 4 doors. I have never ever "raced" on a public road. I have on occasion had a spirited drive in the company of other performance cars, even to the extent of "trying to keep up with them" but nothing I would term "race".

None of which really has much to do with my post above which was on the general subject of "things I have tried to keep up with".

Whilst learing to fly in norfolk, A10 pilots used to take the greatest delight in flying next to little cessnas and then buggering off into the distance once they'd assured themselves that spotty 17 yr old had indeed cacked himslef. This wasn't an isolated incident and happened to most people on my course at one time or another. Used to fly bulldogs from Leeming where the Tornados would take great delight in watching the bulldogs scatter from the circuit whenever they fancied landing. Used to spend far too long mindlessley circling waiting for a slot long enough to get the poor beastie on the ground.

Deano
