Hi

I would use a 5w-40 synthetic as the best option for the engine.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS NT/CFS, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XFS, Shell Helix, Fuchs Supersyn and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives.

As a budget choice, a 10w-40 will be fine and I would either go for the Fuchs Syn MC, Shell Helix, Millers Trident, Castrol Magnatec, Mobil Super 2000 or Motul 6100

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-657-10w-40.aspx

You need a 75w-90 for the gearbox and diff and here are the ones we have.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-...ion-fluid.aspx

If you want to go for the best, the Millers CRX 75w-90 NT, Gulf Competition, Motul Gear 300, Red Line 75w-90NS and Millers TRX are ideal for the gearbox. The Castrol Universal, Motul Motylgear and Fuchs Gear Syn are all decent alternatives. The Fuchs Syn 5, Millers CRX, Redline 75w-90 GL5, Motul Gear 300 and Gulf Competition are ideal for the diff. The Fuchs Sintopoid, Castrol Syntrax Longlife, Millers TRX, Motul Motylgear, Mobil SHC and Amsoil FGR are also good choices.

Cheers

Tim

I would go for a 5w-40 synthetic as that will give good cold start protection, especially in the winter.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul 300V, Red Line and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XF Longlife, Fuchs GT1 XTL/Supersyn, Gulf Formula G/ULE, Shell Helix and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives.

A 10w-50 is ideal for your car and these are the ones that we stock.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-659-10w-50.aspx

The Nanodrive CFS is, on paper, the best oil available, but the Pro S and CFS are both really good oils, so all are good choices for your car.

Cheers

Hi oilman

Model: JDM Impreza 1998 STI Version 4
Engine type: EJ20
Driving style: off-road - rally type
Any other information that may be relevant: no hp mods - running stock 300hp

I will install oil cooling system and I am planning to run the car on LPG (dont know if that makes a difference to oil choice)

I need oil for everything that needs oil Engine, brakes, diffs etc

As for the engine, at what temperatures the oil works best? I understand that temp cant be too high, but also shouldnt be too low, right?

Thanks

Hi

A 10w-40 is ideal for your engine.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-657-10w-40.aspx

The best ones are the Gulf Competition, Motul 300V, Red Line and Millers CFS. As a cheaper alternative the Fuchs Syn MC, Shell HX7, Motul 6100 and Millers EE/Trident are good choices.

You need a 75w-90 for the gearbox and diff.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-...ion-fluid.aspx

If you want to go for the best, the Millers CRX 75w-90 NT, Gulf Competition, Motul Gear 300, Red Line 75w-90NS and Millers TRX are ideal for the gearbox. The Castrol Universal/Universal Plus, Motul Motylgear and Fuchs Gear Syn are all decent alternatives.

The best fluids for the brakes and clutch are the Castrol SRF, Motul RBF660 and Gulf RF1000. The Motul RBF600, Gulf RF800, Millers 300 Plus and Fuchs Pro Race are close to those, but don't have quite as high boiling points. The next step down (in performance terms), but still an upgrade over standard are the Gulf Racing 5.1, Motul DOT 5.1 and Castrol React Performance. Any of the other DOT4 fluids we have are fine to use as a standard choice.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-450-brak...tch-fluid.aspx

The best coolants are the Motul Inugel Optimal or Fuchs Pro Cool, but the Fuchs ESK, Millers Alpine, Castrol Radicool and Gulf are all fine as cheaper alternatives.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-458-coolant-antifreeze.aspx

Cheers

Hi

In that case, I'd use this in the gearbox

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-899-motu...ter-based.aspx

The diff needs a SAE90 LSD oil, like the Fuchs Titan Race Gear 90LS, Castrol Axle Z or Motul 90PA.

Cheers

Hi

It needs an ATF fluid and the best options are the Amsoil ATF, Red Line D4 or Fuchs ATF6000, although the others are fine as cheaper alternatives.

Hi Stu

I would go for a 5w-40.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul 300V, Red Line and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XF Longlife, Fuchs GT1 XTL/Supersyn, Gulf Formula G/ULE, Shell Helix and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives.

Oil for a 2010 WRXS
no additional mods bar the standard PPP and a cosworth panel filter
30k miles - daily driver
also best gearbox oil as it was just changed by Subaru but is a bit more whiney.

Thanks
