Hi

Valvoline make some good oils, but that one would not be my choice for it at all. It's a semi-synthetic and it's too thick, I would use a 5w-40.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul 300V, Red Line and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XF Longlife, Fuchs GT1 XTL/Supersyn, Gulf Formula G/ULE, Shell Helix and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives.

The diff needs a 75w-90 GL5 oil.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-...ion-fluid.aspx

The Fuchs Syn 5, Millers CRX, Redline 75w-90 GL5, Motul Gear 300 and Gulf Competition are ideal for the diff. The Fuchs Sintopoid, Castrol Syntrax Longlife, Millers TRX, Motul Motylgear, Mobil SHC and Amsoil FGR are also good choices.

Cheers

Hi

I would use a 5w-40 synthetic engine oil.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul 300V, Red Line and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XF Longlife, Fuchs GT1 XTL/Supersyn, Gulf Formula G/ULE, Shell Helix and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives.

You need a 75w-90 for the gearbox and diff.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-...ion-fluid.aspx

If you want to go for the best, the Millers CRX 75w-90 NT, Gulf Competition, Motul Gear 300, Red Line 75w-90NS and Millers TRX are ideal for the gearbox. The Castrol Universal/Universal Plus, Motul Motylgear and Fuchs Gear Syn are all decent alternatives.

Here are the plugs and filters.

Hi, have ordered off you chaps before. Car is a classic wrx running about 320bhp. Possibly doing a trackday but unlikely. A good 5-40 fully synthetic ok?

I have a 97 UK turbo with a few mods running around 280/290bhp or so. Millers CFS 5W40 be ok for me too?

Out of curiosity, how much oil is required for the gearbox and diff?

Hi

I'd probably use a 10w-50 in that.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-659-10w-50.aspx

The Nanodrive CFS is, on paper, the best oil available, but the Pro S and CFS are both really good oils, so all are good choices for your car.

Cheers

Hi

I would probably use a really good 10w-40 (like the Millers CFS) as sometimes earlier Imprezas can suffer from a bit of cold start piston slap.

The gearbox takes 3.5L and diff 0.8L.

Cheers

You get 10% off the website prices with the code SCOOBY and then standard delivery to you would be £4.99

Generally, I don't recommend using a flush as they can be too harsh. It's very rare that it causes a problem, but it can happen. If you want to clean it out, just give it a change with a cheap oil, leave that in for a few days, then drain it out. That should clean the engine enough without causing harm.

Cheers

I have a 2004 sti wr1, completely standard. Used for quite a lot of short journeys, and the occasional joyride. I need recommendations for a good engine oil, gearbox oil and diff oil please.

Hi, Oilman could you help me please. I have bought a 2002 impreza 2.0 non turbo awd and I would like to get it serviced. My questions are as follows, 1:what grade engine oil do I need and how many litres and what brand do you recommend, 2: what gear oil do I need and how many litres would do it, I want to do diff also so would it be same in the rear diff also. Thanks in advance . P.s if this helps the guy before me put a straight through exhaust on, that so far is the only mod but later I would like to put an air induction kit on.

The diff needs a SAE90 LSD oil, like the Fuchs Titan Race Gear 90LS, Castrol Axle Z or Motul 90PA.
