Gotta agree with swisstony here, it is a laugh to use
Think if there is even a minimal chance of reducing paint marks compared
to normal bucket washing it's gotta be worth dragging oot the pressure washer eh. Colzo; you're lucky mate, I haven't managed to wash the motor for about three weeks - it's bloody clorty !!

Doc; what I meant with the ssf dilution comment was it's alot more 'watery'
compared to something like hyperwash. As you rightly said you dilute ssf to
50:1 meaning you use half of your free sample in your 1L lance bottle - appologies for the confussion mate

Craig.

I have a huge 5ltr tub of SSL and some of the megs HW.

I put in a little bit of SSL and a small amount of HW, fill with warm water and it seems to produce the kind of foam that Noels House Party would be proud of
The only problem being the small litre container that comes with the lance goes too quickly and so you have to refill half way. I bought one of the bigger bottles which seems a good idea, but then the lance pipe that draws the water is too short..oh well its fun anyway trying to solve this dilema

Not sure about cheapest mate but Autobrite are very well regarded
in terms of customer service. Got my one from there, good company to deal with.

Whats the difference between little and small? Seriously though if my lance bottle is 1 litre and I have a dispensing pump would I use 1 squirt of HW? Not got a foam lance yet but just trying to gather as much info as possible. Detailing world is great for advise but sometimes can get confusing as everyone has their favourites etc. Another thing, does foaming annoy the neighbours? As I prefer to wash the car in the street rather than on my drive.

The difference is between your girlfriend going and at you

Seriously though its not an exact science and as you have found out, the guys on DW all have their own methods etc.
In the one litre bottle (which is the same if you use the karcher one from halfords or a foam lance), you fill up about 1-2 cm of the bottom with SSL and 1-2 cm of HW. the rest is water, warm is the best for the bubbles

I have both, the halfords karcher foamer at £14 and the more expensive foam lance. The only difference is you dont use the karcher PW on power for the halfords one, only the water pressure.

and sod the neighbours I do it and it dosent bother them, they all come out to watch The suds and bubbles all run off anyway into the drain as normal.

The tiny yellow one is fine mate. at £14 you cant go wrong. it just dosent foam or cling as well as the other more expensive. best thing to do is to play around with the foam mixes you use on the cheapy before 'splashing' out on the foam lance

Tbh Colzo the lance is a luxury, think of it this way - you buy the karcher
one £14ish you then realise that it's just ok and sod it you're gonna buy the
proper one; technically you'll be spending £55 + £14 as apposed to £55 first off. It's false economy really mate just get onto autobrite and get it ordered

I had read a wee post on DW about tesco's 'eco wash n wax' being pretty good for the money. Bought some last night £3.00 for a litre cannae be bad gonna stick some in the hyperwash tonight and see how it goes. It's meant to be a good shampoo to use once you've foamed the car and are going to give it the wash mitt treatment ?? We'll see; if it's just average it'll get used on the missus' tigra
