Just look what happened to the Escorts, Mk1 and 2 were saloons with rear wheel drive, then Fords made the Mk3 hatch and FWD, even though they brought out the RS1600i and the RS Turbos, I personally think they were never the same again until they done the Cosworth version.

A lot of people said they hated the Hawkeye when the press pics were released, but it soon won people over, once a few 2008's are driving about opinions may change

Quite possibly the best point coming from an ex owner of 3 of the accepted 'most desirable' classics on here. Perhaps you could do a poll asking what car people would buy for 30k of their own money and see if an Impreza even makes the list, let alone top it.
