Happy Christmas! YOUR FIRED

sorry im not going to name and shame.
they got the last word in the end by the look of it though
as I mentioned I handed my notice in on monday night, they did however just carry on as if they had never recieved the letter, sat the meeting with me absent and decided they no longer wished to employ me (fired me) as of yesterday, at first I wasnt bothered but the more I think about it something dosent sit quite right with it.
anyone got any thoughts why they may have taken that route, so now they have to pay me 1 weeks notice and also 5 days holiday and the day that I worked monday.
where as if they had just taken my notice they would have just had to pay me the 5 days holiday and the monday I worked??

They sound like the type who want to tell everyone that they sacked you - makes them feel powerful .............. you pulled their teeth and they didn't like it, thats all.
good luck!

The fact you've got another job means them sacking you is neither here nor there. They have taken that route thinking your next prospective employer would go to them for a reference and they could tell them you were sacked and have the last laugh. Where as in fact your the one with the last laugh
