been enjoying Halo more now ... just keep the mic off so you don't hear the kids screaming
I start with 7:22 but need to get to the red corridor(end of that section after the stairs) before 5:30 to trigger the checkpoint .... run out of steam playing it and have been playing more Halo 3 online.

I normally go down the left hand side use the m203 GL against the guy waiting for me ,let my 2 team mates take out the guy on the other side (he shoots you in the back),wait for the other guy to come round pop him, then flashbang the rest of them (couple of grenades for good measure) then slowly advance.
Checkpoint gets activated when you reach the large door that leads into the missle bays getting through that will make the previous part seem soooo easy.

Does anybody know how you can get a group of friends to play a proper match against others?? Am i right in guessing someone has to invite them to your party before you then then look for a match? Does it then move all the players in? So far we have only managed to play private matches with each other.
By the way its a awesome game, takes some getting used to online. But i am finally getting the hang of it!!!

I've found the checkpoint activation to be a bit dubious but just before you get to part where you have to go through the large door through the missile silos (4 guys with shotguns spawn) is where the checkpoint should activate.
theboy you have to get an invite to their party or invite them to yours then join a game but it all seems a bit iffy sometimes.

Yes i have got it sorted, we arrange a party and then join the game!!! Well pleased as i got my Sergeant badge today
It's been done on purpose to ensure the player has enough time to complete the next stage, rather than giving them a checkpoint when there's no real prospect of completing the mission and then forcing the complete restart of the level.
From my own experience (this is on Veteran - times may be different on other skill settings), I got a checkpoint on the stairs at about 7m 40s, another one at the end of that b&*($rd corridor in the area with the red lighting at about 7m.
I think there was another one at about 2m 30s or so at the blast doors and then the final one I definitely got was at about 1m.

You'll only get a checkpoint if there's enough time left on the countdown clock at certain stages you pass.

Only other Veteran level left is the one with the TV Studio - tried it before but it resulted in the controller making a dent in the living door..

For the TV Studio, enter the room, turn right immediately and leg it up to the end of the row and hole up behind the partition. Move out slightly so you're looking down the row which has the photocopier on the right hand side and take out the bad guys as they stream out of a room.
After it's calmed down a bit, sprint down this row past the photocopier, turn right in a darkened hall area and hide in the gloom whilst your squad deals with opposition.
