Default Xbox 360 wireless adaptor

Just thinking of getting the wireless adaptor for my Xbox as the wife is tired of the cable running through the house. Would welcome and advice or experience of this item. The BT home hub is upstairs and the Xbox down, will this be a problem? Will my PING be affected, as i dont want slow connection speed.

We have wireless adapters on both xboxes, one about 12 ft away from the router and another upstairs and they work fine, kids say they have never lost connection before, been using them for over a year now, doing away with the cable lying all over the floor and another going all the way up the stairs was the best thing ever.

We even took the wireless to switzerland last christmas and plugged it in a tv upstairs and the router downstairs which had solid concrete floors and walls and still worked fine

My Netgear was easy to set up, has clear menus, web interface, I can see what is connected at a glance etc. What Netgear are you referring to? I get a much better signal with it than I have from Linksys, Belkin or D-Link routers as well...
