burt mate, i`ve just had a nightmare time with insurance for a start... 4 goes at getting my NCb and they finally got it but still have no record of my tracker and other security...

then the guy i bought it off is being a ***** about the exporting of the car

i got it serviced and all the belts changed, which wasnt cheap, and i`ve now had to buy a new MAF.

and just to really **** me off, one of my prodrive centre caps fell off yesterday and is gone forever..

i`m probably making a drama out of nothing but its really beginning to **** me right off..

man its **** when that happens i know how easy it is to loose heart in a car sometimes, esp when your throwing alot of dough at it, granted the service costs are quite expensive, but i dont mind payin extra for top parts, did michael at OMA do it? he is very reasonable labour wise, and knows them inside out.

but at least u have done all that now, if you sold it someone else would get the benefit and the belts wont need touched for another 30-45k now, just oil every 5k and plugs when needed.

i was thinking about the hesitation u mentioned, does it feel more like a surge/wavey feeling of power delivery, usually happens when cold when bosst is rising say on half throttle, they all do it, mine did the same but since i got the greddy boost controller in and downpipe its gone, the standard boost solenoid could be the problem...now the boost is well delivered, spools up lovely holding right the way through.

if its not what ive described above it could be plugs or coil pack they are very fussy for plugs has to be an exact gap...oma will find the prob for sure

would you consider a wee run about for work, my polo was the best few hundred ive spent, does 50mpg and can honestly say its never missed a beat in 14k miles this year, all ive done is service it. i appreciate the scoob more too when i drive it.

good luck

Barry

nah mate, my regular mechanic did it, the parts alone were dear enough. The labour wasn't much.

The hesitation is exactly as you describe, it has a manuel boost controller under bonnet as it was boost spiking with the oeM one quite badly. I think an electronic one will be next.

I don't do mega miles and I can still drive the integra daily if needed.
Jamie is doing a good job of raising my spirits cuz he keeps talking about more power!!! LOL

I agree, the g-reddy electronic boost controller is a great job too Ollie, really helps pull the power out of the turbo, id recommend it big time. And you can put it on the low setting for pootering around or flip it to high boost for ripping and revving
My hesistsion f****d me off big time as well, and i thot no-one would be able to sort it ....but now its gone the car drives totally different ....Michael at OMA says when I get the Haltec ECU fitted and mapped with all me other goodies it'll be like a totally different car so im looking forward to getting that done next month ...............wont help the bank balance comming up to christmas tho

i would try and stay clear of manual boost controllers just never been a fan of them personally, the greddy has definitely made a difference on mine, and as RB5 Boyo says u can run it at 0.7-0.8 bar for normal driving and if i feel like like it push a button and run 1 bar for a we rip. RB5 Boyo sounds like me and you are going for v similar spec, ive just put a post up about it.

ps i seen your motor on tues going past queens looks mean!nice brakes too are they AP's?

yes mate AP calipers with the godspeed 335mm conversion.

my car has a manual controller underbonnet that was fitted to cure a few boost spikes by the previous long term owner, but the car is only running standard boost.

maf is fitted, the hesitation seems to be 99% cured, though i`ll let someone take it for a skelp at the next meet for their opinion.

i`ve a few ebay items for sale this week most of which are selling well so if it continues i`ll have the cash for one soon enough

my car was hesitating abit too especially with 3 or 4 people in the car but fine with 1 plus myself, i fitted a lamco boost gauge to see wot the craic was!!!!! the car was going from about 0.9 to 0.4 then back up to 0.9, then the downpipe went in it hasn t done it in ages now. i hear it could be a spring in the actuator. (so i ve been told correct me if i wrong )

hasn t done it in ages so i ve not done anything about it.

ps ollie everyone pays out a good bit when they first get their car to make it better plus for peace of mind better to be sure then forking out for a re build

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm now that u mention it my mate had that same prob last week when he got a new engine fitted and it turned out to be the boost valve solenoid. if u fit a boost controller this does away with this boost valve!! Looking like a boost problem now Ollie, not an airflow meter as i first thought

s2000's arent that quick for 240bhp my scoob was able to sit with one and that was before i got the downpipe and boost controller, there a nice car though...

also in realtion to the boost problems before i got the electronic boost controller the car used to tail off boost in 2nd gear , like if i held it at say 2500rpm then floored it it felt like it was running say 5psi, then at about 5500rpm it went on full boost again, so def sounds like a solenoid problem, but as mentioned the greddy does away with this.
