Now, where do I send the Baliffs into?

The shop I bought the TV have plenty of valuable stock ..... their Head Office would be pretty useless as you cannot seize tools of work (PC's and Laptop's for example).

I think the Shop should be the target - I will be there "I'm Back" I will announce to the Manager who refused to help me - let us relieve you of a few items of value

I will only believe it's over when I have the money sitting in my Bank Account ..... remember, this is only placing me back into the position I was had I not bought from Currys or their sister companies.......

Thats quite true .... just imagine a 70 year old grandmother who had bought a washing machine from Currys with her Pension and they decided to restrict her rights when that machine failed her .... she would have had to accept the decision of DSG Retail Customer Service Department - which would have been, "Tough Luck Grannie, Take us to Court if you want Justice!"

Can the number of replies on this thread go up to 1,000?

Or does it stop at 999?

Where's all this crap about bailiffs coming from?

It'll go: delay, judgment, accounts dept, delay, delay, cheque.

No fuss, no drama, no nasty men frog-marching into the store - it'll be dealt with by some minor official at head office signing a few forms, and if you go back into the store and confront them, they'll shrug their shoulders and laugh at you.

You've probably won, and that's great. I hope your new TV works better, but you haven't changed the world.

Lawyers should never ask a grandma a question if they aren't prepared for the answer. In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grand-motherly, elderly woman to the stand.

He approached her and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know me?"

She responded, "Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a young boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realise you never will amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you."

The lawyer was stunned! Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know the defence attorney?"

She again replied, "Why, yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him."

The defence attorney almost died. The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said,

"If either of you f--king idiots asks her if she knows me, I'll send you to the electric chair.”

I'm sure Curry Motors are good in Customer Service ...... a recent WHICH? Report put the DSG Retail Group of Companies at the BOTTOM of a Customer Service Report ..........

2004 they were down the bottom

2005 they were too

2006 ? not sure but I bet they were down there

http://www.ipt-ltd.co.uk/downloads/p...s_custserv.pdf

It's easy DSG Retail, Currys, Dixons, PCWorld, Pixmania ..... TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS WELL and you will flourish, treat them as you do now and eventually reap their wrath and go out of business!

Unfortunately Pete,

you wont get your ending per se,

IF the judge finds in your favor, (although i have to admit, due to non attendance or submission it will more than likely go your way) a judgment will be issued to DSG retail,

whereupon they will have to settle the claim in full.

Not sure if there is an appeal process.

If and only iF DSG retail fail to honour the judgment, can you apply for enforcement (bailiffs), however you wont be able to go with them to reclaim your pound of flesh.

But I win ... they can offer no defence whatsoever for their treatment of me??

I would say that they come out of this very badly indeed .... why cheese off a Customer and then not defend your position in front of a Judge at Law?

Laughable, absolutely laughable!!

They need to buck up their ideas of how to treat customers ..... I really struggle to understand why they allow such inept performance from their employees when dealing with Customers - what's wrong with the 'Customer is always right' ethos?

A few years ago INDEX started treating Customers badly - they went bust!!

If PSL has any sense, he'll put a bit of tape over the pixel and use the telly in his garden shed!

Pete,

Very glad to hear you managed to stuff Curry's in the end, I sincerely hope that you don't have to go to a great deal of trouble to get your money back. They should be well and truly castigated by the judge for their attitude throughout.

On the other hand, I and maybe B-B too are bereft since you did not accept our offer of assistance at the court!

The joke was very funny

Cheers Les .... I never actually saw the inside of the CourtRoom - it was all done outside with the help of the Clerk to the Court, so you and B-B didn't miss anything

I'm quite sure that the DSG Retail policy of treating Customers like dirt will extend to their payment of their dues .... I will instruct the Baliffs at the very earliest opportunity if they play hard-ball.

Cheers

I'm sure that DSG Retail have not finished with me yet - or maybe they have? Maybe £865 is but a drop in the ocean for them? Maybe they have just written it off?

I can only rest when I can spend the money again

Pete you got fed up hearing others moan about the wasps nest and not doing anything about it. You charged in grabbed hold and have calmly walked out with the nest. It seems walking out you realise you havent heard a buzz. What will you do? Put the nest on the fire and warm your hands OR are you going to shake it like a terrier to see where the wasps are??

There does seem to be twinge of disappointment that there has been no fight back from Currys?

CONGRATS PETE

Will you get the original cost of the TV plus expenses incurred i.e travel to the store and court? Also are you eligible for any sort of compensation?

You know me better than most - if there is a button I can press marked "Do NOT Push This Button" I will .... so, if I can be a terrier I will opt for that.

I was really, really, looking forward to meeting their legal team in Court - to them it would have been 'just another cheesed off Customer' - to me it would have meant so much more and I would have been so much more focused.

I had the photos, I have the video, I had the statements, I had the telephone conversations ......... I also had the Technical Knowledge to sink any thing in that department they could throw at me - even that ISO Standard is bollox (they use it to scare people off, but you can drive a coach and horses through it).

We shall see what pans out over the next month ... should be concluded by mid March I guess?

I rejected the TV way back, so should get the cost of that back.

I get my Court Costs, but have let them off with my postage, petrol and stuff because the judge wants to see a willingness to settle and be reasonable.

All I wanted was for them to supply me a fault free TV ......

The Judgement may read completely different, mind you - so we shall see what the Judge orders ..... that should be with me within a week.

Well they obviously twigged that you were a force to be reckoned with Pete and that they had no grounds for their behaviour. I mentioned some time ago that they were relying on you chickening out but made the big mistake in that respect. Congratulations in calling their bluff and I hope that they get well and truly hammered by the court.

Thanks Les .... I have not received judgement yet, so won't count my chickens

However, if it goes in my favour it begs the questions:- Why Currys treated me so badly? Why not be Customer focused? Why not just replace a 23 week old TV that has a fault? Why not attempt to raise your game? Why lose so many Customers and goodwill?

For every one dissatisfied customers there are 20 who will hear about it, raise your standards DSG Retail!!!!
