It's also aimed at monitors, does ISO apply to Televisions too?
And secondly, I wonder if its possible to challange the ISO standard as unacceptable to the general public in terms assuring adequate quailty. As its obviously devised to appease manufacturers of 2nd rate screens who are incapeable of manufacturing a screen and not be 100% certain it will not suffer a pixel failure within it warrantee.; they may as well not offer a warrantee full stop.
In addition the consumer is not made aware that they are buying a product where its termed "acceptable" to for it not to do what one expects a montor to do when brand new: and that is to display a perfect picture.

I have investigated that ISO standard thoroughly (as you would expect) - I have a concrete defence for it. I am not going to disclose my defence here, but it is watertight, I can assure you
Their defence has to be that the TV does not have a fault which is covered under The Sale of Goods Act, that's going to be extremely interesting to see.
They have admitted, in WRITING, that the TV has a 'Purity Error', an Error is a Defect, a Defect is a fault.
Pretty straightforward - I fully expect the Judge to tell Currys that they haven't a chance in hell and should settle.

That ISO standard is like saying to a car buyer with a cylinder which isn't working - "We abide by an ISO Standard which we didn't tell you about and is not mentioned in any documentation, which you have never heard of, which says that a cylinder not working is an acceptable tolerance on that car because (unknown to you) that car is a Class 2 car"

Thats quite correct, ISO 9001 simply means that if you say you will make faulty TV's then you comply if you do!!
And you can proudly boast that your products meet the ISO standard

No, thats when I see their Defence and the Judge reviews the case.
It is then allocated a track after a questionaire is sent out to defendant and claimant - I shall select the Small Claims Track.
'Directions' are then given by the Judge - usually to exchange details and evidence.
I pay an additional amount at this point - which Currys will have to repay me, of course.
The judge may decide that one side, or the other, has no chance of winning and then gives his opinion on that.
We shall see how it pans out - I am eager to get into that court room with my evidence and defence of anything they can throw my way

Leslie and You are more than welcome - Les will bring his Gin for the Judge, your job is to boo and hiss when the Currys Solicitor tries to stitch me up
Maybe my opening line in Court should be stolen from the film Jaws - "we're going to need a bigger Court"

I don't give Curry's a "cat's" chance myself.

Yes, thanks Mart, I did think of that .... but, this isn't a Court of law - so, I'm assuming that they will be OK.
Remember, too, Currys admit that there is a fault - I just wish to show it to the judge .... the video actually clinches it (shows the flashing beautifully) ........ that, I will take with an analogue tape AND digital.
The fact it has a fault is not in dispute, the fact that Currys think I should live with it is in dispute.

.....By a TV from Curry's, pray it does the same and amuse yourself at trying to get them to fix it, only for you to take them to court?

I agree though that watching the pixel would be preferable to most of the TV schedule content.

Ha Ha .... the DSG Retail Group have been caught selling secondhand stuff as new many, many times before. My TV could well be palmed off to someone else as new - I could actually be the second/third/fourth owner of it in any case .... it being returned faulty after court cases
It could go down as the most resurected (sp?) TV in history and the most legally experienced

Pete - UV pens are your friend and if anyone asks: you marked it with your postcode / house number BEFORE you noted the (alleged) faulty pixel
