Because it's a possible slur against you, is 'obviously' not true, and perhaps that others think you do infract people and hence are talking mince

There's no room for less than perfect in 'Pete's World'

You continue in the 'Also-Ran' World

Must have done I guess if some kind of dispute is showing up on your file then it makes you a bad risk in their eyes, e.g. you could just be looking for an excuse to get out of paying.

They'll approve nearly anyone one those 12 months 0% / buy now pay later deals that retailers offer. They rely on thick chavs forgetting to make payment before the 12 months is up or suddenly realising they don't actually have the money. 29.9% interest after that, with the added bonus that if you don't pay up within the interest free period then they'll charge you 29.9% for those 12 months too. Great scam

No corner here - but worth being on Page 1 to alert others of the perils of shopping with CURRYS

Would that poster who posted way back please take a print off it all again and post to CURRYS?

If CURRYS have lost an average £100 sale off 3000 people due to their anti customer service and this thread highlighting that fact, then it's cost them £300,000 ....... a terrible business model by any stretch of the imagination. If they had repaired my TV it would have cost them NIL, LGE would have supplied the required part free to CURRYS.

And, the costs of going to court + the costs when they lose ....

Quite simply staggering ineptitude ........

They still don't think they will be going to court Pete, so in their eyes it has cost a couple of letters and a couple of engineer visits....cheap. People will forget episodes like this quickly enough when the price calls them in for a new TV or some such.

So - their thoughts so far. We have fobbed him off saved money on repair or replacement - RESULT.

B-B .... even if only a few people who read this buy elsewhere, it's cost them real money Awwwwwww, shame

They may have gone and bought at John Lewis .... to guarantee genuine customer care.

Would you think twice about buying at CURRYS after this?

BTW great news about your youngest daughter

I had trouble about 7 yrs ago with a TV that they tried to shaft me with. After a lot of letter writing and phone calls I got the money back from them.
Since then I havent, and will not buy a thing from this group.
If they cant look after a customer, then they shouldnt have customers

Im sure yesterday the currys group issued a profit warning for the next 3 months.

They deserve to go down the tubes and the fault will remain fully and squarely with Customer Services ............ they treat their customers like **** if they need help.

PC World turned me down for a job - how humiliating do you think that was!
Mind you, I was actually qualified and knew my stuff, so I would never have fitted in.

I bought my camera on those terms (£1500). Checked my credit history recently, and they have me down as owing £2600, which would be the full cost if I didn't pay it off on time, and took the 3 years instead. £1100 interest FFS!

As it is I'll pay for it on my 3% cashback card, then transfer that to a card with 12 month 0% on transfers and a 2.5% fee, and make a profit. Unless I forget...

I have given PC World SO many chances to shine and they have failed every time.

I have gone in there THREE times intending to buy a laptop and walked away in disgust every time as the total lack of "advise"

They have wrongly "advised" me on other bits of kit twice.

I'm slightly IT savvy but no techno geek yet I ALWAYS seem to know more than their staff!

So I used laptopsdirect.co.uk and got a blinding deal on an Acer Travelmate instead.

It's in capitals simply because that what the company is called ..... it's not currys, Currys .... but CURRYS!

And yes, CURRYS are the crap outlet ... owned by DIXONS.

A quick trawl of their website shows that they only ever refer to themselves as Currys. Go look yourself.....not that I suppose you will, as you will consider it beneath you.

You know what?

You are absolutely right! I stand corrected ..... they shall be known as Currys from now on!!

I really, honestly thought it was CURRYS on their shop fronts!! Maybe the faulty pixel isn't actually there either

Thanks for pointing that out, I know how important it is

Received a letter from the CC Company ..... they want loads of paperwork!

I was told they would make it difficult, but - have a lower pain threshold than Currys have ....

They want receipt, all letters, Currys Terms and Conditions, independant TV repairman report on VAT headed paper ......

All because Currys cannot treat customers fairly

Do NOT buy from Currys or Dixons or PCWorld .... or prepare for battle if something is wrong.
