And a further pedantic point...
BA is an abbreviation and not an acronym. An acronym is a word made up from the initial letters of other words. Laser - from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation being a good example.
If you pronounce BA as the two separate letters then it is an abbreviation. If you pronounce it as "Bah", then I am wrong and BA is an acronym.

BA stewards may be different from the Australian acronym airline's stewards.... (Queens And Nancies Trained As Stewards)........ But maybe not.
