It seems to me that if anyone on SN does anything out of the ordinary they get hung for it. If we all done the same things to our cars how boring would scooby ownership be..
What hes done to his car is obviously not to everyones taste and if im honest not to mine either. But surely a more positive approach to criticism wouldnt go amiss instead of just shooting him down.

Above was the first question.
I think people have been honest. So why are people getting upset??
Quite a few people DO obviously think (What do you think?) it is overdone and not to their liking.
Personally, I never felt the need to over embellish a 1.1 Saxo with a huge amount of external custom-car, modifications.
Let alone a relatively powerful car like a Scooby.

And as for more positive approach to criticism!! OK, what like "You're car looks wrong, but I'm sure your mother likes it "... why should we?
If its wrong its wrong.... and as we're all adults (well some of us are) and as such we're able to be honest and give a real opinion... i.e. "Its kind of crap looking"

Not what do you think of the rest of the car .Its the spoiler the question is being asked about .

how can we give an opinion of just the spoiler..the title said on a classic, so we take it all into account.
If on the other hand the title had said
"wrc1 spoiler on a wrc car " then maybe it wouldnt have generated so many responses we can only react to what we are given or shown (actually that is bollocks, we are all great at speculating as well )

Well, to voice a newb opinion, without resorting to txt spk or insults devoid of wit, from the rear it looks a bit better, from the side it looks misplaced and akward. If I might comment on the overall look - "blind spastic in a Halfords bargain bin with a can of superglue", which others echoed to some degree.
On another note, I too am a Cage Fighter. From the Ghetto.

You'd be surprised. It's the brain damage that inspires us to create such individual designs for our cars. I have a Mondeo ST24 spoiler in primer ready to go on my WRX. And I dun my bonnet in dayglo lime to match me silver paintwork.

This seems to have gone off topic a little .
So back on topic .For those who have said my car looks crap why not show us your pride and joy and let other SN members debate on how your car looks
So come on i dare you .
Put your cars on members gallery.
How many of you that have trashed my car will do so.
Or will you hide behind your keyboard with a few smart comments and avoid the issue.
So guys lets see your cars.

well since my name is at the top of the list then I should oblige, but may I remind you that you seem to have already looked at my car, hence these comments
but just in case that has slipped your mind..feel free to click on my Plus profile
I think your post was a little harsh considering your car would win a competition for BEING BLAND IN A BLAND COMPETITION .Its just plain boring.
As for suggesting that someone is on crack for liking my car makes you sound like a complete TOSSER.

Yours actually looks very good mate obviously well looked after.
Although it looks like a lot of other blue classics.
Maybe my previous statement was a little harsh but i did feel your comments may be a little strong.

Here are some comments that I got, not all good not I don't care - if we all liked the same things it would be a very boring world.

You seem to have spat your dummy out because some people don't like what you have done....get over yourself and don't post pics in future if you don't like the response you are getting.

But wont THAT take this thread off topic??
In fact, being brutally honest- the ONE thing that HAS taken your thread off topic are all the people who are wingeing about other peoples comments.
Do a search, (HOL & Gallery) my scoobies HAVE been on the Gallery many times before and I didnt get lots of negative comments that I can remember.
You are making me troll now!

It wasn't us who asked for an opinion on our car, it was you! No one slagged your car off but you received a few genuine opinions as to its 'confused' image... what with gluing on a mid level spoiler and newage rear wing etc... and because you didn't like what you were hearing you started getting all arsey about it!
Its called a "Classic" for a reason....

So if by bolting the garden fence to the back of your car can generate this much interest among the blokes why not strap the kitchen sink to your back and go round town, you'll be a killer with the ladies.
