great looking car,def one of the best i,ve seen ,i'm not a great fan of any of the mods you ave used especially lexus lights ,but you have some how managed to make them all fit together very well indeed, the only thing i'm unsure of is the front lip,to me it looks slightly out of place somehow, maybe if the sideskirts and the lips on the rear bumper were carbon fibre aswell. and the wing mirrors painted red.
good to see a one off looking car.
keep up the good work

I do like the spoiler, but think the propotions are wrong for the car - if it was around 2/3 the height it would suit the shape of the car better.

HATE the lexus lights - look cheap and gash - stick some STi ones on instead. Or, they would probably look good if you had them colour coded to the rest of the car and painted red - would give it a bit of a skyline look.

Not keen on the rims either ( although the design of the wheels is nice ), if you look at the size of them they just look too big for the car.

But as others say - each to their own and he obviously likes the look otherwise he wouldnt have done it.

It seems to me that if anyone on SN does anything out of the ordinary they get hung for it. If we all done the same things to our cars how boring would scooby ownership be..
What hes done to his car is obviously not to everyones taste and if im honest not to mine either. But surely a more positive approach to criticism wouldnt go amiss instead of just shooting him down.

swap the bonnet, mirrors, side skirts, rims & them bl00dy lights & it would look 10X's better

i think the car looks great each to their own... i'm not a fan of the rear lights, but i think the rear spoiler goes reather well on the classic and looks like it fits really well

It's not that bad, as Fatman has said a few things need painting to match, the spliter for one and bin the rear lights.

I'm quite liking the bonnet, Thinking of something along those lines myself but it needs blending in with some paint.

I have to be honest and say that I like that spoiler on the car and a lot of the 'look' that you have given it, but in my opinion the rear lights need to die a horrible death . With only a couple of changes that would look perfick.

the spoiler on the RCM gobstopper looks better, as its better suited to the shape of the classic.

the headlights/sidelights do actually match, must be a bad photo as i have them myself and they look fine (black style headlights are a common feature on newer cars anyway, no bad thing, i feel the crystal black headlights help update the classic in a subtle way))

the rear lights are beyond gash, the rest is ok but i feel carbon bonnets and stuff is a bit "4 years ago" IMHO

I think you should have stuck with keeping the car red on the bonnet and splitter etc etc as the yellow scoob looks good. I know your fitting carbon to it but carbon and red is a little too much. But the spoiler looks good well done

I think you will find that most people who gave their criticisms, did so in a constructive way (myself included). yes of course it would be boring as hell if we all did the same mods and yes someone who does some "head over the parapat" mods does tend to get flamed..what the issue is here is people's opinions of what has been done as a whole (i.e the combination of mods). The OP seems to be happy and so that is good enough for him,but lest you forget, if someone posts on here with the line

"what do you think", then they should be prepared to get both positive and negative comments ...its just the way it is

IMO would look better with colour coded. Door handles, front lip, the ends of the rear window/roof spoiler and the little black bits on the rear arches. Leave the bonnet as it is.

Basically, because I have a slower car, my right to an opinion is somehow banished, and I must love all turbos my default, regardless of how I think they look?

No, your right m8!!! Anybody who puts a Pink grill badge on their Sport must know everything there is to know on styling.

Its definately too fast and furious (bit chavved up for my liking), though you could have gone more for the WRC bonnet which would have looked much better and the spoiler is well (dare I say it) crap, a replica WRC one of those would have suited the car better.
Wheels look very nice though but a bit unusable, and I think you may have shares in a carbon fibre manufacturer somewhere
A pic of the engine bay would be nice though

as already said, not sure about the lights but the rest of the car I do quite like. Its very refreshing not to see gold rims and swooshes and tbh if you like it mate the rest can just jog on can't they!

What are the sideskirts mate?

Oh - and about my opinion, evidently its not actually valid because I'm insignificant as I drive a blue sport with gold wheels.

Kev - the thing with styling is its all about personal opinions. Let me give you an example, your mother might think your handsome - everyone else might think you look pig ugly - but at the end of the day do you care as long as your happy with how you look? Probably not - its the same with cars. So in your opinion the pink grill badge looks naff - judging by the amount of pink badges in circulation a lot of people clearly think the exact opposite so in there eyes what do you know?

I didn't say the Pink grill badge looked naff, did I? I think Marc was asking for constructive remarks/comments, whether they be what he wanted to hear or not. Calling his car Chav and Crap is not constructive.

Its only a couple of months ago that i posted some pics up on SN and got slated for putting a touring car type spoiler on my car, the very same as you get on the S202/S203 Subarus. The very same car you'd all give your right hand to own.

What myself, and Marc have tried to do with our cars is make them a little different from the "Norm" and both of us have recieved bad comments, something thats become the "Norm" on SN.

I'm off now to put a STI 4 spoiler back on my car, take the turbo bonnet off and put a Sport bonnet on and park it behind a Mondeo Estate so that it doesn't stand out in the crowd, just like you've done James.

Oh, by the way James, just been looking though your mods list. Leather Gator, RESPECT !!!!!!!!!

I like it a lot mate but would agree with the lexus lights and that you've perhaps overdone the bonnet add-ons but in the whole it's a very nice looking scoob.

Nice to see them in a different colour for a change too

Cheers for you positive comments Tony or should i say mr charisma.

You dont even own a Subaru anymore .You sold it and bought a diesel vauxhall.
As for a picture of the engine bay you ve seen it many times before when i whooped you *** in your spec c at numerous rr events

Hey dont get too jealous because both my subaru's were newer than yours
As for the WRC spoiler, yours at the moment (and a few people may agree with me) just looks like a new age STI spoiler with some plastic bits added, which does look crap, now if you actually go and have a look for a WRC spoiler, (look here Online Auctions at eBid United Kingdom : WRC style Rear Wing Spoiler Subaru Impreza ) you may see what I mean
And for the rr, well thats what they are, your power wasnt that much higher than my standard power, it would have cost me less than 5k to get over 400bhp yours has cost you how much?
Car wise, the vauxhall was a necessity, I needed a long distance cruiser so the Spec C had to go though knowing what I do now, I could have kept her but thats an afterthought.

Tony

Tony that spoiler will only for new age cars not classics and is £800 .As i paid less than £300 theres quite a difference .
The spoiler IMO looks great and that what matters.
As for the rear lights i have to agree with everybody so have got a set of sti rear lights to fit.
Maybe a better picture will show spoiler off to its best

so now this has turned into a "points" match between tony and marc.pm each other guys, dont spoil this thread. its a genuine debate, and its full of positives and negatives.for the record, where did you get the spoiler for less than £300 from. painted?im seriously thinking of one as i go for the stealth look on my red classic. not keen on carbon fibre, but like the spoiler. different from the norm sti.

Tell you what mate, can't be bothered to argue with you.

If it makes you feel better, fine. I love it. This is how they should've rolled out the factory. In fact, **** it, I might just pop to the loo and shoot my load.

I don't like it. End of. Have I once called it chav? No. Have I called it crap? No. Hell, looking at the spec, a lot of time, effort and indeed money has gone into this car, and it does look well put together. It's just not the things I personally would have chosen. And that's surely the basic principle of an opinion, of which everyone is entitled to have.
