What age would you allow your kids to have an alocoholic drink

He did get tight on holiday. Was hilarious and the swine did not have a hangover the next day. He has been spot on since coming home, enjoying a couple on the odd night he fancies. I feel it is fine, at least he is home. My Mum, like I said is horrified. She thinks we are encouraging him, I think we are educating him and keeping an eye at the same time. 
In europe there's a more relaxed opinion and they have a tiny glass of wine with meals with parents at like 13/14.
If they see the parents doing it, they're bound to be curious. And better to try in your lounge, then round the park with peer pressure and bragging etc.
You haven't got a problem until you're kid asks for help rolling a joint at 12.

I think you're doing the right thing. Most kids at that age are already been drinking.

If he's with the wrong/right crowd he'll end up in the park getting pissed anyway 
Those were the days...White Lightening, Diamond White and Shock cider, oh not to forget 20/20. Those was the days before Alcopops took off. Not that I will ever deny partaking in such anti-social activities.

I can't remember exactly but I am sure my kids had some alcohol probably around 14-15 at home. Say some wine with a special meal or a beer for my lad. All very relaxed and they are not alcos yet (21 & 19).
Oh and tell your mum that sometime in the next 3 years or so your boy will have tried a spliff and possibly had a snort. Best not too mention sex The main thing is for you and 85of300 to know about it and steer him clear of any really dodgy "mates" if you can

I would never stop him having a glass of wine with his meal Snug, but as we have never been wine with meal drinkers, the question has never come up. This is purely, watch a film, play on Xbox or whatever and have a drink or two.

I think 16 or so is plenty early enough. It is too easy to develop a taste for it and wind up an alcoholic, as we see all the time these days. It is not doing them a favour to allow them to start too soon.
