Wide arch, 400+bhp Newage rebuild...For the road :)
sorry for bumping this up but what a freaking amazing build!!!!
just read the whole thread... 2 hours... time well spent...saved myself ****load of $$$$ and X.XXX hours of build time!! (although for that car every $ and hour you put in was well worth it IMO)
gotta get some sleep now... gonna have some pleasant dreams tonight for sure
although getting into my van tomorrow for work is gonna be a reality check
looking forward to the 2 door newage build...

This car is pretty much stripped down ready for repairs amd 'other work'
Probably going to be later in the year now, as I am working on a fun track type car for over the summer months.
Neil.

Wow just read through 29 pages and what a cracking car you have built. The amount of dedication and.commitment that has gone into it, just a shame about the bump over winter. Can I ask how much or what repair work is needed to get it back on the road minus any future mods you were planning?
Ok so not a write off then, that is good news. Hope you get the time to get back up together as it would be a shame to leave it in the corner gathering more dust.
All the best with it and again great thread and smashing looking car.

So, after finally getting on top of a back log of work at work, and no serious buyer for the shell, I have decided to get some repairs done this week.
Yesterday saw the crash damaged sections cut out and ready for the new section to be grafted in.

Today saw the chassis rail stitched in, along with the lower cross member/frame.
Inner wings all repaired, along with a few minor mods, and into first coats of primer.
I'm not certain that the lower rail is staying at the moment, but it helps when aligning everything up for now.

I have also decided to re-locate the screen washer bottle into the boot, so welded up the existing hole.

And there will be no pipework, either FMIC or intake, going from the engine bay through the inner wing, so I welded that up also.

Phew!
Been waiting for this project to come alive again. I love this car, top man! Will be great to see it sorted again in its next rein-car-nation! Great work.
p.s. Any pics or thread link for the Beamer you did recently? I believe someone said you were working on something else a little special???

Good to see that you kick this beauty back to life.
Unfortunately I couldn't find the cash to buy the shell and get it transported to Denmark, somehow my engine re-build drained my bank account.

Love the re-in-car-nation pun

Today saw the primer in the engine bay getting it's first sanding with 180's grit, prior to final priming..
Few pin holes were present, so a bit of spot putty required...

Spot putty sanded down.

Also decided to do a bit more shaving, so off with the pitch bar mount..

Car hasn't had A/C for a while, so I reckon I can cope without it for our 2 weeks of warmth per year, so welded up the hole, along with some others.

Bit of filler, sanded down..

However, I've decided to get rid of some more holes and do some more re-routing of wiring, so there will be a bit more to do on the bulkhead yet...

That's gonna be clean, not sure I'd be bothered about pin-holes under the bonnet though
I wonder how stable the engine will be without the pitch mount though?

I'm a bit odd, I like the paint finish on my engine bays to be better than the exterior of most other cars...

Using different engine and gearbox mounts compensates for the loss of the pitch bar Jon.
It's quite common on a few track based cars now.

Just not seen it done before, got myself a CDF one. Looking at the alcantara roof-lining - did you paint the sun visors and light surrounds. I was going to flock mine but I've not done the pillars and don't think I will unless I can find a way to remove the alarm sensors from the pillars easily. I've trimmed the roof-lining in red suede (not as neat a job as yours, I may have to do it again) but I need to sort the roof-flap surround and visors but I don't know what to paint the visors with
