To all of you who are dissing this thread and the time and effort that Bubba will put into this project.
At least he can stand back and admire the work that he has put into this manually and not created by some computer generated image.
This person has actually dedicated his time, and his effort into creating a masterpiece of his own making. That I cannot give enough credit to.
People have their own perspective of art, and this is how Bubba is showing his.
So, I await the work in progress Bubba. I shall for one amongst many others await pics and updates of this project.

It's not a 'computer generated image' you dick. It's a fully three dimensional model created electronically instead of using a lump of wood. It still takes hours of work to realise. Not that I can be arsed to explain the process here.
As a general rule, if you don't have any idea what you are talking about, you really should keep your opinions to yourself.

If you read earlier, UB, it matters alot to me.
1 - My father, who is now dead, was a very good artist. This thread makes me think of him, I like that
2 - Bubba is a very good friend
Is that ok

Well, this is textbook SN, really. I have every respect for the w*rk that UB puts into his digital sculptures and wouldn't denigrate them in any way. I would only defend my personal choice of material over his. There are some people posting on this thread who must be really, really inadequate and have serious personal issues in order to turn a record of personal endeavour that might be interesting to people - over and above dump valves, LCD televisions and one's earning potential - into a backbiting fiasco.
I'll continue to add updates as and when, for those that are interested.

Well, yes, and no....
My dad was an accomplished and respected classical/jazz musician. That doesn't mean I go all wonky everytime I read a thread saying this or that music is the best (and everyone else should agree).
BTW Does Bubba know he reminds you of your father??

Robin, I give up
I was very close to my Dad, and this is just like watching him work. It's great and pleases me. Nowt wrong with that.
Oh and why don't you get cockahoop when someone mentions your fathers interests, It's normal you know.
I don't think everyone should agree, but I do think I am entitled to my opinion

Nice work Bubba
When I was younger I set out to be a joiner, loved working with wood, sadly it all went ****.
Looking forward to the updates and pics with interest.
It's a shame your thread is being messed withby the usual attention seekers, if you'd put this in projects you'd have been safe although no one apart from the grease monkeys would have seen it !

Got accepted at St Albans college after getting backing from a local joinery firm, a week before I was abouit to start I recieved a call from them saying they were very sorry but they could no longer sponsor me, it transpired a "relative" of one of the bosses got my sponsorship, this really made me disillusioned, being 16 and naive and also greedy I accepted a job from one of my neighbours and that was that.
No Regrets though, but wood was always my favourite material to work with, nice and warn unlike metal which a lot of my school mates got into, to be fair the metal work room was cold and nasty whereas the woodwork room was warm and inviting give me a jigsaw over a milling machine any day

BTW - notwithstanding the hours taken to create it, and the undoubted talent it takes to create using whatever 3d modelling software, unless you can physically touch it, it is still, arguably, a computer generated image.
And as for "if you don't have any idea what you are talking about, you really should keep your opinions to yourself", coming from you, thats not just rich, its priceless
Anyway, back on track, very impressive Bubba, looking forward to the end result
