Thanks. I'm conscious that it doesn't look much different each day, but I guarantee that there's at least three hours' work between photographs. It's just so bloody big that removing a relatively small amount of material takes a long time.

I can fully appreciate that, very much like when I'm rubbing filler in a tight angled corner which takes forever and feels like you have achieved f-all and can be very frustrating but thankfully satisfying in the end.

Very impressive - one day when I'm old and wrinkly I might try my hand at something like this, would never have the time now though.

I put the last one on ebay for a joke and it sold for 500 nicker.
I'm not doing this one with the intention of selling it. I've just ordered a stainless steel display stand for this one from a local fabricator/welder.

£500 I suppose it depends on how big and how long it took.
This one will look nice when being displayed.

Merry Christmas ya old lag....
I offered to sell you a superior mallet to that one ages ago.
But you wouldn't listen.
It is very nice though - an improvement of the old 'side of the hammer' technique.
Cheers - Rob

Oh no!! lol - me old Nemesis!
My brother was asking me what he could get me for Christmas, and your mallet was at the back of my mind I think.
I'm sort of embarrassed about the vids because I think I look a bit like a frightened rabbit in 'em.
But thanks for the good comments.

Hehe - yea, I don't bother bitching on forums anymore. Life is too short.
It was a thing of it's time, and that's gone now.
Good luck with your carving, I will follow your progress with interest.
