Coming on well now! That's a shame about the crack.
As I say, if it doesn't get really, really bad, there are some fantastic coloured cabinet makers' filling waxes available. They're slightly translucent and they mimic polished wood very well, if you do it wit enough attention to detail. Cracking is just a thing you have to live with with green wood.
It's been a week at least since I last did any work on this, owing to the fact that I had about twenty-five songs to learn/practise for my gig last Saturday.
The ******* has begun to crack, as predicted. :whiny: I'll have to let it take its course then wax in the cracks when it's all dried completely. :whiny:
Hope you likey.
Its really good - well done.
Now, excuse my ignorance, but why the big holes on one side of the head?
That side is going to be the skull Urban. The other side is fully fleshed. That is some really nice work Bubba! As a ex high end one off furniture maker I can really appreciate the work going in to it.
I've done a few smaller pieces myself by hand.
Whats the future for this one? ebay again?

Thanks for that, mate.
I have no plans for this one, same as the last one. Projects like these I just do for the fun - because I want to do them. This is easily the biggest carving I've done. I just seem drawn to doing carving after a lifetime of painting.

Have you done any painting lately, Bub? Since I last nagged you about it, I mean......
I still haven't finished that bleedin' painting of our mate's cat, from two years ago!
