I never imagined you'd look, nor talk, like that!!
For some reason I had you down as a gruf, ruf, tuf, Saarf Landoner.
Anyway, I jest.
Having done a bit of matchstick carving myself I know how hard it is - you certainly are a talented chap.
LOL, no, I'm a mild-mannered Yorkshireman - and thanks for the compliment.

Yes, it's called a gouge. It's a plastic-handled one that will take being hit with a hammer, so I can give it plenty of welly. That one is an out-cannel design, with the bevel on the outside, which tends to throw the gouge back out of the workpiece so it doesn't dig in too deeply.
Well, yes - if you look back a couple of pages, I mentioned my intention to start this project. It's just that it's taken me about three years to get hold of the right piece of wood.
I reckon I've done a hundred hours so far, and there's the same number of hours still in it, as a conservative estimate.
Tonight, I'm afraid I reverted to the chainsaw, as I really needed to take off a fairly large amount of material. I shortened and slimmed the muzzle and lower jaw. As a result the thing looks a bit less attractive, but it really needed doing - I wasn't making the progress I would have liked.
Didnt you do this five years ago Bob? I hope so, because I can see a mental image of this, finished.
I did a single-sided, much smaller one that was just a skull, not half-and-half. I said at the time I wanted to do this but I've only just got round to it.
It's been a week at least since I last did any work on this, owing to the fact that I had about twenty-five songs to learn/practise for my gig last Saturday.
The ******* has begun to crack, as predicted. :whiny: I'll have to let it take its course then wax in the cracks when it's all dried completely. :whiny:
Hope you likey.
