I wouldn't let a protest cast a shaddow Rob, not worth it at all.
I've seen it before at Prescott, albeit later in the season when things were getting excited and in a hot class to.
Look at what Keith Murry had to put up with and his circuit racer.
Putting the required £££ on the table surprises me if that really happened?
Life continues!
To Powerstation tomorrow for a fettle; might be tempted for a power run on the RR.
2 years ago with the TMIC on and decat it was 378 bhp and 360 lbft.
With the FMIC and the sport cat on it could be interesting (and secret!) as they are the 2 only changes other than Optimax v Vmax fuel.
Good luck at MIRA!
Might come to the B meeting at Loton in the 911 to watch and see if Martin has learnt new tricks!

Do that Graham, be good to see you. Be good to see your 911 too, I'd quite fancy one myself someday!
I hope I have learnt somethings from my last visit, especially how/where not to come off!!

The scrut's all walked over and I made a wise crack about being guilty as charged thinking they were heading else where and it was me they were coming to see! I asked what it was all about and they said someone had lodged a complaint about my car. Never mind, they were very decent about it all, i'm in the clear and the racing goes on.
Looking forward to MIRA very much it's a great track to drive, class is a bit tough though check this out for opposition, Pete, Roy and my Dad.
Need to get entered to the first Loton B asap for the Loton champs as I concentrated all my entries on the midland hill and sprint champs straight away and planned to fill the gaps in later. Hope my tyres haven't passed the useful stage as I'm told with Kumho's they are great to a point with low tread then go to the dogs, I don't have low tread I have no tread!

That is so true about the Kumhos.
That is exactly what happened to me at last year's Shelsley after my track day entertaining at Curb.
The tyres were absolutly shot and grip simply dissapeared on me.
MIRA sounds easy!
It's your nutter dad I'd be worried about. Show them how it's done!
I'm painting the house...

Mira sprint/midland sprint championship
Had a brilliant day today at mira weather was perfect, not many cars there so we got 3 practice runs in. Our dad couldnt be there (went to curb to meet keith murray and get his car tweaked) so that just left Rob, Roy and I in the class. In practice i got very close to roys 52.52 and rob wasnt far off it either, come the main runs roys car wouldnt start, something to do with his alarm so this left just me and rob to battle for 1st! Fist competitive i set the pace with a 52.63 second run i did a 52.42 just ahead of rob's 52.61 class win and put me in the run off for overall first which i went on to ***** up, bogged down the launch and had a nice moment @ the control tower corner! (All on camara) very close and great racing. Wish roy had stayed in class would have been even better racing (something tells me he had some left in the tanks and would have gone quicker!! if he car didnt fail on him)

It was indeed a great days racing, with this much horsepower MIRA really does test your self-preservation instinct, with the keep it flat through the 110+ corner being much harder to make yourself do than you thought. I broke the speed trap at 113mph, 8 mph faster than last year and knocked almost 2 seconds off my time from last year. However last year I managed to keep evey 64ft launch time uner 2.0 seconds with a PB of 1.90, this year the problems I am having launching with the new power were very evidient with most of my launches ending in a stationary 4 wheel smoke fest or bogging down trying to find a balance, the turbo comes on boost so fast and so strong that no matter what I try it seems to over power my measly 205 rubber. My worst launch of 2.42 coming on my final and fastest run which is more frustrating than I can explain. Enough of the excuses, Pete drove his freshly set up evo like a legend and used every bit of it's grip to push fast times all day and our battles as ever ended in 100ths of seconds of difference with him getting the better of me this time, making me even more sick about leaving 0.42 on the start line. As Pete said above Roy's car simply died and he didn't complete a single competetive run.
One thing I am really happy about is the new exe-tc suspension and how the car behaves on it, I managed to dial out some understeer and by stiffening the car all round on the 160 different settings to shave a second off instantly.
My Kumhos are now toast and whole pieces are starting to seperate from the casing, leaving me with a painful, potentialy wallet destroying desicion on my next set of tyres which I will have to make before Prescott on the may bank holiday weekend.
Below is a link to in car video footage from my final run of 52.61 hope you enjoy it!

Well done guys. I can see some drag racing practice is required though!
I have some ideas we can implement though to reduce the power on launch, and get you on a clean run, sort the rubber though and you will find tenths straight away.

That looked like a good launch, are you sure you're not creeping forward prior to launching properly? The car looks very easy to drive, with smooth steering input, better tyres full stop (be they 1b or slicks) will make a difference.

The car is very easy to drive what I meant above was it used to be so easy to launch, a real no brainer, consistently under 2.0 seconds with a bad launch being 2.10, something I have only managed to better once in 25 runs so far this season.
This is all however a classic case of a bad workman blaming his tools and I am sure a better driver would figure it out pretty much straight away, I'm just struggling to adapt and it is really frustrating when your losing out by 10ths and 100ths to leave up to 0.5 of a seconds on the start line.
The car as a whole is awesome especially the suspension which has transformed the handling and the reduction in times prove how much better it is, in the 2 competetive events so far I have beaten last years times by a whopping 3.53 seconds at Loton and 1.63 at MIRA which in sprinting and hill climbing is a massive ammount and any moaning is just sour grapes on my part.
I am still new to this game and improving every aspect every meeting and being only 0.09 seconds behind the midland hill climb champions fastest practice time at the weekend points to me doing something right.
I do however appear to be a bit of a donkey at launching with anything more than 300bhp and I will take you up on those drag launching lessons asap!
Trimmed all the crap off the video :

Rob:
When i did the engine on my car I had exactly the same problem.
My starts were slower on 1B's/380 bhp than the 312 bhp on Toyo 1A's.
It frustrated me like mad, but because I'm crap at this game, it took me a fullyear to get things right, and last year 2.00/1.96 were 'easy' if brutal (to my senses).
Were they chocking the cars at MIRA on the start?
You will be ok at Prescott.
Sorry about the price of slicks, those were for my small cross ply ones.
I'm hoping Curtis can tweek the car a bit for slicks, but I'm just not using the slicks yet, and that front diff is bugging me.
But, as you say, workman blaming his tools and all that.
Graham.

The solution will be more throttle, but less boost on throttle. I will have to figure something out for mine too, although I have been experimenting with launching with the nitrous on!
