Idea

There was talk of what maps were we going to use earlier on. How about just sticking to the 50 maps that are on Mikes Server. Most of us have downloaded them already so it will save time and hassle. Also it will give us all a chance to have a go at them b4 next Sunday.

What do you fink ?

All the maps from our Locked Server will be on the LAN server plus a few that used to be on the Rogue Custom Map server that I downloaded before the current wave of new ones - I may clean these off and just leave the Locked ones.

I have all the custom ones expanded into a cstrike directory structure on the LAN server. Currently using it to keep my PC and Server in sync. This will be available as a windows share - so anyone can quickly update if they're missing any.

Server will do DHCP so hopefully setup time will be a minimum. Server has no anti-cheat on so hopefully everyone will connect just fine - even HHxx . I've checked it and its properly configured as a LAN server so no need for WON authentication.

The stats are working aswell.....

Cool

Hi

Bad news Muddy Funster has been told by Mrs Funster he cant make our LAN session due to visiting the outlaws.

Oh well only 6 days to go

BRING IT ON.

I think we need a list of what everyone is bringing so we can find out what we are missing.

Me

1.2 Athlon PC
17" monitor,
Network card (might need a lead)
4 way extension lead,
Head phones,
Chair
Me
Pennies for a Pizza
Bag of 50p for the electrickery meter

RR anything you want us to bring, drink etc or do you want us to put a few quid in a kitty and let you sort it out b4 we get there?

Oh yeah dont forget the balloons outside your house for the LAN party

Cheers

Neal

Chaps,

Got the OK from the missus for this (forgot her birthday was three days later :O) so I'll be there

I'm bringing..

700 mhtz Athlon
Mic + headphones/speakers (not set up voice in CS yet).
15" monitor (unless I can borrow someone's spare?. I don't want to bring my own 17" one).
3 x 4 way power leads
Assorted patch cables (did someone say we were going to may these up on the spot)?
Chair
Pasting table (hopefully with some support)
Fizzy pop (since most of us will be driving)

Plus the following Multiplayer games in case we get board..

Age of Empires 2 + Expansion
Soldier of Fortune (FPS)
Homeworld (3D space RTS)

Are we meeting 9am or 10am??

Got some good news

The venue has changed! I've procured some empty offices in Milton Keynes so no one has to worry about bringing chairs, desks or even car parking
We will still meet outside JDW on Sunday at 10am though.

Drinks - can people bring along some please.
Food - phone up for pizza?

Okay - I'm bringing along my PC with monitor, headphones, a single 4way and some spare cables.

Deano, can u confirm that you are bringing two switches, some 8ways and the server.
HHxx, is it possible to make up the cables b4 hand? – Say 6 x 3m, 4 x 5m and 2 x 10m cables.

I’ll email everyone with directions to JDW and the offices along with my mobile no.

rr

Should we bring a crowbar to gain access into these empty offices?

Hopefully I'll be bring my new PC if I get it sorted in time...

P4 1.5GHz
Headphones (that gamevoice thing)
2x 17" Monitors
Cans of Coke (or do we need Redbull?)
and a couple of 4 way plugs.

Matt
P.S. Well done Raody for the offices
Will the room be heated or should I bring some gloves?

If I remember rightly there is about 15 free desks. some into others rooms so we would need some 15m cables if we have more people.

Matt offices are heated, but I think you should still wear gloves -its your handicap

yeah, drop puff a mail and see what he thinks.

Is anyone planning to bring a friend then

so far we have deano, matt, neal, diz, nimbus, hhxx, david, me and a friend.

LOL @ Roady.

I probably won't need a handicap with everyone on a level playing field ping wise. Especially if I'm in punching distance of the guy I'm about to shoot for the 5th time in a row

I might have a mate who's interested in coming. Depends if he can drag himself out of bed in time though cause he'll be driving down from Brum.

Looking good

I'll just bring a shed load of cables of varying lengths. That should cover everything. Else I'll make some on the spot, if I can remember how that it

I'm looking at borrowing this nice 18in TFT from work which I am looking at

Deano, will the server handle the extra amount of people? Can't remember if you are borrowing the faster one??

I reckon the dual 200 I had would cope with 10 happily. I am (as I type ) rebuilding the dual 700 so there will be no problems at all. Its also considerably smaller and wont kil my back getting it out of the Loft and into the car.
