Politicians get blamed for everything, and yes they sometimes deserve it.

However, I am imclined to also blame, the lazy, feckless, mean, greedy, self interested, whingeing public as well, the politicians get moaned at as there isnt enough money to go around cos so many people claim benefits when they shouldnt, make themselves ill by eating ****e, having unprotected sex, fighting when pissed, drinking and smoking too much. Then they blame the government because their benefits dont cover scratch cards, **** and beer adequately.

If stuff isnt nailed down it gets nicked, if it is nailed down it gets wrecked or grafitti on it, then pehaps some broken glass, dog **** and litter, the money has to come from somewhere ?

So, perhaps if the great British public could behave themselves and conduct themselves in a decent manner for a couple of years then perhaps then we could then convincingly blame the government for all the social ills, but you know what, I think if (a its a big if) the public could see there way clear to not being stupid b4stards for a couple of years then guess what thigs might just improve on their own.

You cant blame politicians for somebody raping a three year old, that isnt a law and order issue, thats a mental health issue and I dont think the individuals convcerned tare thinking of the consequences when they perform such a sick attack, I cant even subscribe to the usual SN 'String them up by the *****' thing, they just need taking away from normal people and in my book stringing someone up by the ***** kind of makes you as mental as they are, obviously I as a parent resever the right to do ball stringing to anyone if its my kids involved.

J4CKO,

The attitudes you mention are certainly just as you say. This style of behaviour however has been largely engendered by the policies of this sorry lot in charge.

Les, we all have brains to a greater or lesser extent and whilst I agree policy has an impact I dont think it is anywhere near as great as the individuals own mind and the way they are taught, mainly by their parents.

Just happens the country is full of scrounging, stupid (unless its claiming benefits), aggressive mutants.

I agree, how do we (as a nation or as a government) supposed to change these attitudes?

If someone is inclined to kill or rape, they already lack the initial inhibitions that would make a decent person stop in their tracks. Same for tax leachers reproducing like rabbits, and in turn playing a part in creating such a society (no morals or family values).

The problem is these people already exist, so its two fold, to sort them out, and also to make sure any offfspring they create doesn't go down the same path (or worse).

This rot has already set in, so what do we do? If it were a peice of wood, you'd cut it out and get rid of it. Like wood you could also try and repair that rot by using hardener; but that doesn't solve the problem imo, the rot is still there.

Translating that to the UK social problems, how do you change that mindset when it is already rotten? Some people believe in rehabilitation, and it does work for smaller problems, but for deep problems, its like the wood hardener; it doesn't work, they need removing from our society. So what then, kill them? Prison for life? Remove the means for which they commit their crime (eye for an eye etc)? Or can we carry on thinking that they can be rehabilitated into decent citizens and allowed to re-enter society?

I for one belive that the latter can only go so far, prison isn't rehab, its just storage. Whilst the governement feels that it is the reverse (as in, you go to prison, do your time, then come out with a halo). And until they address that issue full on, we can't move forward onto the up and comming generations.

I agree with some of your points but just bear this in mind, these are not new crimes, If I mention 2 names you may get the picture, Liam Bradey, Mira Hidley? they raped and murdered children 40 yrs ago, the difference with todays society is that we are far more media savy and with the freedom of Info Act , papers can get a lot more data than they ever used to.

Believe me as someone who is a Magistrate, I see as many People in court for crimes against children for offences they commited in 60's&70's as I do for recent crime.

As far as Im concerned until we get rid of the bunch of 'bed wetters' who run this country then things wont change much.
